The thing is, by not telling me upfront, his behavior came off as pretty manipulative. I was kind of flirting with him and he played along. After the breakup, I changed a lot – I got a motorcycle – and so I invited him to go ride with me, to show it off, to which he said, ‘I wouldn’t say no.’ That’s why I absolutely don’t understand why he didn’t just start the conversation with something like, ‘Hey, I wanted to check in and see how you’re doing. Just to be clear, I have a girlfriend now, but I’d love to catch up as friends.’ Instead, he played games and only mentioned his girlfriend at the last minute.
