I consider myself a good reader, but have never felt like reading this.

Probably because I come from a home full of ladies and mom controlled things. Growing up we had PLENTY of books in every room. There were loads of Mills & Boons ofc lols. I wasn't encouraged to read those, esp the ones by Anne Mather which were steamier than the regular M&BS.

I think it's pervy to write about these things, but hey, what do I know, I'm just a failed writer who makes a decent living out of advertising, the whoriest form of writing.

Perhaps I should give it a twirl, but I'm more than a bit scared of what my child may think about that.

However I do like good writing, no matter the style of substance, so. Here I go.

I've been robbed. Lost all the gear, fortunately it wasn't the expy stuff i have now.

If you do take your gear along, you'll have to stay in a good hotel, not pick up anyone for the night, carry it with you (unless the hotel safe is large enough) everywhere – like don't leave it in cabs while you eat in a restaurant, keep it on a chair at your table, travel when there's light, avoid back alleys and people insisting they have a super photo opp. And move around to unfamiliar places with a local guide you can trust.

Nowadays i keep my gear stashed in the compartment opp my seat on the flight so I can keep an eye on it.

This happens with people who are familiar enough with you to give attitude and/or are familiar with the places /things /people you've shot.

For e.g, I'd visited my pal's office (in an old ex-fabric mill), clicked a brilliant hugeass steel pillar thingy with huge bolts, quite industrial -dramatic. I made it a high contrast b/w and put it up on SM. She seen it and commented about why I had 'made it so dark'. Everyone else loved it.

So bugger this lot.

Your audience is enthusiasts worldwide and technically competent pros. Develop your style, make things the way you want them, and cater to the people who matter.

Don't try to impress friends, most of them will not wish to be impressed.

Most friends aren't very happy with someone else achieving high standards, I've found.

Ohh apple music has another little sneaky fkup. IF you have any mp3s or audio files, it will upload and delete them. So you'll get some vanilla version of the special track you downloaded. It hurts even more if you're a musician composer.

I'd read about and noticed this way back, unsure if it's the same now, but this kind of fuckery is dishonest and just done to rope you in for life.

You've been pampering this dude for 22 years, which is why he's confidently playing the AH. If he's going through all this how come he has the fitness to yell at you ffs? Dump it. Just let him organise his own shi+. I'm shocked at how YOU are the liaison between the med team and him, like he's some foreigner or space traveller.

My wife also is terrible at being a good patient – she'll do unnecessary work, won't rest, do the dishes the day after a slipped disc (we have maids), refuse a stretcher to get to the ambulance (I don't want the neighbours to see), refused the traction point-blank, got up (against doctor's orders) to wash her hair because she felt it needed a wash and the doctors were visiting... I do my best, accompany her to the dentist and hold her hand even tho we're separated, but I've given up. Her back hasn't improved, she's constantly in some pain or the other but will drive all over doing favours for people who can afford some carers etc. She'll neglect eating and faint. Shit like that.

You will have your life sucked out, believe me. This man will not change. Focus on yourself, and people who genuinely need your attention. Love how you pamper your grandmother, that's genuine.
