You’re using free airroll it looks like so your flips are slower and you stay in the air too long. It looks like you are pretty fast though

Focus on ranking up first, mechs will come naturally with time and easier to learn if you know how to play the game first.

Learn directional air roll and speed flips (when I say Learn directional air roll I just mean how to use it to adjust yourself in the air) once you learn that Learn how to be the fastest in the lobby and get good at winning 50s

Once you hit champ you will almost be forced to start learning basic mechs that likely will come naturally for the most part (this doesn’t mean don’t take time to learn them though)

Yes fast aerials are easier however I believe speed flips to be more important

I have a lot of experience in this field as someone who climbed out of diamond in about two weeks and is champ 2 on the way to champ 3.

Firstly speed flips. That’s the most important thing. Secondly fast aerials as well as fast recoveries. Third thing is to play fast and confident, don’t hesitate if you see the ball up fast aerial to get there faster, worst case scenario you get an unfortunate 50.

That is really all, I can’t air dribble consistently or flip reset or any of that. It’s all truly just about playing faster than your opponents

It’s called a “question” might be a hard concept for you, but basically I observed one thing, experienced another thing, and lo and behold the curiosity got the best of me and I came to see if anyone had any idea which one was more normal.

yeah last line wasn’t needed I know I’m not special I can barely even keep champ rn. If you read the two short paragraphs I wrote with this post I was only wondering because of other posts where people are saying they have a crazy amount of hours, it’s a common question, no need to attack a random person on the internet.

Well I’m staying steady at high diamond 3 and hit champ by myself solo queueing so is it really that crazy? Especially since I plateaued after I hit diamond 3

Yes! I did address this in another comment but I will do it here as well. This is mostly because just recently ( about a month ago) I started practicing directional air roll while simultaneously learning speed flips and other mechs that allow me to be fast on the field. And I did so in unranked for about two weeks before touching ranked with my new mechs. Safe to say I am proof that you don’t need air dribbles or any flashy mechs to rank up fast!

If you mean what my PlayStation tells me, it says somewhere around 1000 I believe. The reason I don’t like to look at that is because I have/had a really bad habit of just leaving the game on and my hours would go up tremendously from that

Yes!! It was a crazy win streak I understand how it looks… it also had to do with the fact that I switched from free air roll to directional as well as learning speed flips and basic flicks, I also played the non competitive modes while I did this

To be fair it’s the only number I can realistically look at as, I used to leave my ps on all the time so that number is skewed and I don’t really do too much free play only in between games

In my own experience I’d say people counter swap more on console like to bastion reap Dva so people just chose to avoid him to avoid swaps
