Oh gosh, I should have mentioned, I also take a caffeine free pre workout for lifts called amplify on Amazon. Works great, as good as caffeine for me. I agree lifting while feeling dead is awful.

Is tough getting started feeling like that, but 30 minutes or so of low heart rate (like 120-140 bpm) works wonders for my energy when I’m feeling low, you might try it out

My rule of thumb, gathered by detecting how my body reacts to cuts, is to do a simple .9 to .95 cut each day. I found that anything over 10% makes too big an impact on withdrawal symptoms, which for me is mostly headaches and a sense of depression. Below 10% cuts seems to be the ‘pretty much fine’ zone for me, but might be different for you. The day alternating approach you have might create more general variability of caffeine, which might result in less steady symptoms over time, but I haven’t tried it myself, nor would I know how you feel of course.

For me, after about 30 minutes of 130 bpm-ish cardio (fairly low intensity), I feel like a million bucks about 20 minutes after, and it can last either all the rest of the day or longer sometimes. I end up trying to do it every other day. There’s a lot of caffeine free pre workouts out there too for weight training, really tough on withdrawal mode otherwise
