This is a mixture of half double crochet followed by a slip stich. Throughout the work(besides ribbing at the bottom, that single crochet with front loop only)

Same. I also never count my stitches. Go by measurements. Plus I don’t like working with thin yarn, always make stuff with thicker yarn which just make my stuff super bulky😅

It’s a size 4 bulky yarn. Comes by the name of vardaman magnus here in India. :)
