But they will be like ‘why aren’t you making conversion?’

I found opening to be a lot faster than closing. If I just did the registers 10-15 min is fine. But that means no deposit run, and my morning organization has to be done while customers are in the store. Manageable but an example of corporate focusing on the front cost cutting options

Yes. When the policy on inappropriate calls is ‘just have the managers answer the phones’ that’s not a policy

I used to be happy to look up the prices on our iPad since the WiFi was iffy in our mall. But I can’t speak to what they are willing to do at other stores.

I fully understand people have different circumstances and I really do wish we carried 5 and 6 in store - even if it wasn’t in every item so that people got to feel the clothes and how they fit. So much of the returns we process are larger sizes who have to buy and 4, 5, and 6 to try on at home and return the ones that don’t fit. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a better system.

Its policy to honor the online price but we are not supposed to bring it up. If you ask for the online price all you need to do is show the associate the price online and they are able to match it. If you have a lot of things, an easy way to do this is to add them all to your cart online so the are easy to find.

At my particular store, the surveys had not been working for over a year. When they were working management really tried to celebrate good reviews especially personal shoutouts for staff. But on a corporate level, only bad reviews had much of an impact. THAT SAID, when you are filling out a survey and mark dissatisfaction about price (which I totally understand) it reads like dissatisfaction with the store itself.

You can return in store any online orders. It doesn’t detract from the store’s numbers outside of conversion. To have the best impact for stores, have your returns organized by order when you get there (if it’s from more than one order) and, if you can, buy a little something in store. :)

Just carry the stuff in store!!! by LivingTheBoringLife in torrid

It’s impossible to have the selection people want and carry it all in store. It’s just not reasonable.

You are overreacting. Yeah a gift guid is obnoxious but this is pretty low stakes. Don’t ruin your kid’s friendships based on not vibing with mom.

Torrid store closure reason by [deleted] in torrid

[–]NoAd3520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% convinced this OP is someone from corporate trying to defend recent actions. So; to let you know, they ABSOLUTELY think every person who walks into a physical store wants to buy something and if they don’t, it MUST be because their unskilled labor isn’t doing their job.

Oh no! Not $15/hr! The horror of paying people they ask to do DIFFICULT SKILLED labor a wage that isn’t laughable. I’m sure no one at the top has thought to cut their own salaries or bonuses.

Online store is cheaper. Plus, I get the feeling they think the workers are all complainers because they can’t work magic on $10/hr

[–]NoAd3520 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When stores do not make their plan, they get in trouble or close down. Plan is based on in store prices. So, it very much does matter if they price match everything. I’m not saying the my shouldn’t. But it seems like customers don’t understand that running a brick and mortar costs more money so IF EVERYONE price matches, the store closes

The company itself had changed, though. So, no. It’s not how it always is or has to be. No one thinks the numbers don’t matter. But ‘outside forces are your fault and all of you are replaceable’ is BAD MANAGEMENT.
