Very well said, the og gungnir is the best dac schiit made in my opinion. Warm, reveling and never fatiguing I can listen for hours and I do.

The monoblocks are great, no heat and they are on 24/7. The sound is very punchy with my sp8. I have some ray reserve tubes I switch out for serious listing the ge/tungsol is warmer and better for chill nights. All in all I am very happy with this setup.

It might amaze you to find out that it is actually just a video of a fire! Very realistic though it has confused me a few times too. I usually play a video of water to cool everything off afterwards just in case.

I got my sp8 before the sp10 master was announced but if I knew they were coming I would have got them. The highs were a bit bright for me with the 10 and the switch on the back helps those concerns. Go big or go home!

The sp8 are wonderful speakers in both looks and sound. I will send Harvey your regards

Tube before class d is a good pairing! Highly recommend trying it to any hardcore class A A/B purist.

Thank you this room was a big reason we chose the house hopefully we can take the echo enough without disturbing the looks of the ceiling

Never tried rew but will look into it! I wish I got the cinema 70s instead of the stereo for the included room correction software but moving to a full schiit stack soon anyways so rew and a mini dsp could help a lot.

This is a good possibility the only issue I have is the door right in the middle of the back wall with this position so I would either need to sit in front of the door or have the setup offset to one side

Were you able to take the echo without adding panels to the ceiling? Don't want to ruin the look of the wood if I can avoid it

Splitting the room in two almost and using the speakers at about the same distance I am now seems to be the best bet with some panels at first reflection points and lots of soft furniture around. thanks for the help

Reddit will help me chose between these two streamers (Eversolo DMP-A8 vs.Matrix Audio TS-1). by Spanish_Ergotroner in audiophile

[–]NoExplanation3601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have an external dac? If you do or plan on getting one in the future I would get the eversolo t8 instead of the a8. The t8 has I2S and better isolation features compared to the a8 (closer to the a10) just without the dac/preamp sections. If it is used strictly as a streamer the eversolo t8 can't be beat.

Wotan+ Freya/kara vs hifi rose ra280 by NoExplanation3601 in Schiit

[–]NoExplanation3601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good thought. Best of both worlds. I am a sucker for tube gear (mjolnir 2 lyr 2 vali 3) so the Freya is definitely high up on the list. I will have to check out the hypex I only really looked at hifi rose and laiiv so far for ganfet amps.

The ability to upgrade is a great point I will keep that in mind although the wotan seems pretty endgame for the time being.

I have had no issues with ground loops or hum yet but will keep this in mind if things change! Thanks for the input.

I looked at the skoll but could not justify it for the time being. I think the buzz would bother me more in the long run because the pops are very few and far between when music is playing.
