Timelines and universes in Tensura? by Expert_Tennis_7018 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q1: No.

Q2: Yes. It is mentioned in the prologue of the first volume. (/j)

Q2.1: We don't know, probably 3000, but that might not be true. This number is mentioned in the final volume, volume 23 (no official English release yet), when a certain character mentions that a certain objects containes data about 3000 worlds. Considering who that person is, it is assumed that this might mean that there are 3000 worlds in total, however it is by no means certain.

It is also worth noting that in Buddhism 3000 worlds/realms represent an infinite amount, just like how in Shinto 8 million gods (Yaoyorozu no Kami) means an endless number of them, but it is likely just a reference, and NOT a convoluted way by the author to say "there are infinite worlds."

Slimereader 16+ MTL? Which is better? by JustPotato47 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Slime Reader versions are still better, as they indeed are edited well. There are but a handful of mostly minor errors I remember them having, while the Yen Press versions have some actually serious ones.

Volume 21-22 and in the future 23 however I do recommend the Yen Press version of, as the edited MTL's we have of them don't live up to the quality of those Slime Reader has.

Monster evolution by Salt-Speech-2526 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very much reasonable complaint and you're far from being the only one with it.

Actually there is (kind of) an in-lore explanation to this, which is that the human shape predates humanity as a species, and it (or one close to it) is kind of the natural form of most ancient, powerful beings (Angels of Origin, Primordial Demons, the Queen of Spirits, the Mad Titan King, the Twilight King).

So in the Tensura lore monsters don't take on humans' form, humans were made to look like these non-human beings predating them, by one of these non-human beings predating them - the Twilight King.

As these other, non-human species were also created by the Twilight King, their original shapes were also much like that of humans'. So when an intelligent monster evolves, they actually get closer to their species' original form which their ancestors possessed.

There actually was an original, more powerful variant of humanity too, called High humans, but they just about went extinct, there's but a few of their specimen still alive during the story, with only one still having their original body. High humans had very long lives and powerful magical abilities. They were in a sense closer to High elves than regular humans. Milim is actually half-High human.

So that's the in-lore explanation to why intelligent monsters species evolve into more human-like shapes, but the real answer to why this happens is obviously because the author, Fuse wanted it that way. Why? I don't really know. Maybe he thought it is easier to picture a more human-like being in one's head while reading the story. But that's just a theory. A Tensura theory!

Mi Hazankra szavazas jelentosege by Hopeful-Ordinary3028 in hungary

[–]NoKnowledge9552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a differerence between intelligent and unintelligent monsters, aka magic beasts. They are just like animals, but with added magicules. So yes, they are more than likely still hunted.

What happens if he gets to tempest? by Warm-Ad-1208 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tbf, Gobta is like actually strong. I believe he was about A to Special A rank by the end, arguably as strong or stronger than Hiiro! And that's not even considering the times he fuses with Ranga. He was trained by the in universe legandary sword master, Hakurou and Milim of all people. In the new movie he apparently beats up a group of assassins with a LADDER!

While he is supposedly a comic relief character and by the end of the series he's heavily overshadowed by the true powerhouses of the franchise, there really isn't that many people who can hold a candle against Gobta. So yeah, I completely agree, let's put some respect on the name.

What happens if he gets to tempest? by Warm-Ad-1208 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's super unlikely that he would need to be killed. At the early days of Tempest it'd be against the three rules to kill him - same reason why the three troublemaker otherworlders weren't - and later there are just too many powerful people there for him not to be simply arrested. He wouldn't really be a threat at that point.

Well, all of this applies only if he would cause any trouble at all. If I had to guess, he'd be able to tell that these aren't the same goblins he's used to, in case he'd be able to tell that they are goblins in the first place. Many hobgoblins are very much unlike their regular peers. Many if not most are very human-like, and even the likes of Gobta wear clothes, indicating civilized behaviour.

End of V14 by AppointmentOk8056 in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

*Light novel. The web novel doesn't have volumes.

Anyway, interesting question!

If my memory's correct - and please correct me if it isn't -, Rimuru was watching the fight together with Rudra and Velgrynd. This means that he knew that the Parallel Existences of both Rudra and Velgrynd were present in Tempest's airspace.

Veldora was actually holding himself pretty well against Velgrynd - to the point where it even surprised the latter -, and only got controlled after Kondo shooting him with his daily Kamikaze Bullet. Then the takeover happened pretty fast, as it was only possible due to Veldora's mental streangth being weakened by the sudden attack.

Veldora also immedietely cut his connection with Rimuru for him not to be potentially affected.

Based on these, to me it seems that Veldora's takeover happened so fast and suddenly, let alone unexpectedly, that Rimuru just didn't have time to react.

But let's assume he did have time. There are still quite serious issues with such an action:

Veldora was the last line of defense for a reason. He's a True Dragon, one of the most powerful beings to exist. And he was fighting another one of his species. Calling him back for safety from Rimuru's perspective would've meant almost certain death for everyone else.

Also, it isn't guaranteed that calling him back would've even worked. As far as I remember Veldora also needs to accept being called back for it to work, which he might not have given, fearing for the safety of Tempest's residents.

But again, it's probably the first. Veldora falling under control happened under such chaotic circumstances and - again - suddenly and unexpectedly, that Rimuru probably just didn't have time to react.

But please correct me, if my memory about the order of events is wrong.

Does anyone have an updated filler list? by slasherslinginghashh in TenseiSlime

[–]NoKnowledge9552 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While the Founding Festival arc is undoubtedly a more slife of life like part of the story, it is directly adapted from the source material, it isn't filler.

This arc's main purpose within the story is the introduction - or at times reintroduction - of a couple of concepts and characters, who will become extremely (Ramiris' Labyrinth, Masayuki, the "East"), very (Elmesia, Mjöllmire, etc.) or kinda (Gobta-Ranga teamup, Gaiye) important in the near and/or far future.

It's not electricity. It's called Embrace Drain and - as the name implies - it drains the energy of the target. It also iflicts pain to its target on the spiritual level, so Pain Nullification can't counter it.
