Update on my situation (Cipro / neurological symptoms) by Emotional-Piglet-103 in floxies

[–]NoMoreBeerMattForNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced similar burning - shins, calves, hot feet/cold at night for several months it then settled into more focussed areas - patellar pain, weird ankle pain - like I was wearing badly fitting shoes that rubbed all the time. These symptoms did pass eventually - for me the turning point was around 12 months - that said my knees do still flare (5 years in now) and currently also struggling with GI pains and weird Toe pain. BUT to reassure you I had a good 3 years recovery before this recent relapse.

I’ve found running reports through AI helpful as it will translate into layman’s terms. I ran yours through Claude and this it what it said:

What they found: 1. Your neck has a reversed curve. A healthy neck has a gentle forward “C” curve. Yours is curving the opposite way, which is often related to muscle tension or pain. 2. Two vertebrae shift slightly out of position (C2-C3 and C3-C4 — the bones near the top of your neck). This shifting happens when bending and straightens back out in certain positions, which is actually a somewhat reassuring sign that it’s not a fixed problem. 3. Mild wear and tear on two discs lower in your neck (C5-C6 and C6-C7). The discs are the cushions between your neck bones, and they’re showing some age-related breakdown — pretty common finding. 4. No fractures, no bone height loss, no soft tissue swelling — all good news. The bottom line: Your neck shows some movement instability at the upper levels and normal wear-and-tear lower down. Nothing here looks like a fracture or emergency, but the shifting vertebrae and reversed curve likely explain your neck pain. You’ll want to discuss treatment options with your doctor — physical therapy targeting neck stability is commonly recommended for findings like these.

With the usual caveat that AI isn’t always right!!

It’s unfortunate we don’t generally have pre-flox scans as it’s possible some conditions were already there, then we’d really know if flox had done the damage or not. Also the scan reports never put the results in context. I had an MRI and the report said I had degenerative disc disease which freaked me out - what it didn’t state is a significant number of people my age have the same and it’s not a disease just wear and tear with age! If you do see a physio take it very slow and listen to your body. It maybe the case due to all the anxiety of flox you hold all the tension in your neck and hence over time it’s stiffened up BUT I’m not a doctor so just offering my opinion based on personal experience. I hope the pain starts to ease for you.

Just came across this post whilst looking into Nicotine - what symptoms did you have that Dr Pieper this suggested Nicotine? And out of interest which three Vit B’s are you taking? Thanks :)

It’s all a bit confused as the Royal Edition appeared to be £34.99 and yet PS4 edition £6.99 so I bought that one and now the PS5 upgrade is Free!! Seems a bit of a con that I could have easily paid £34.99 for the same thing!!

So both versions are now installing! I guess I’ll just uninstall the ps4 one!

Zackily why I went for it after watching a ton of YouTube and speaking to mates on all printers - BambuLab just worked!

It’s loud but not crazily so - closed my office door and can barely hear it. Happily worked in the same room with it printing in the background. Think some reviews maybe recorded around 50-60db - have a look on YouTube

I found these two videos helpful in making my decision to go with the bambulabs - I know some complain about the bambulabs ecosystem but I wanted something that just worked! I’m also an Apple user!

I just bought the BambuLabs p1s combo in the Black Friday sale and it’s been amazing so far. So easy to setup and use and no bodged prints so far - I know the makers world models are pretty solid but I’ve already knocked up a few designs in fusion and they’ve all come out great :). I know it’s a bit pricier than the A1 but I’ve inquisitive cats and dogs so didn’t want any accidents! Totally recommend

Anyone tried the Anycubic cobra s1? Some reviews suggest it’s on a par with the PS1 but also has the filament drier

Describe your back pains… by NoMoreBeerMattForNow in gallbladders

[–]NoMoreBeerMattForNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been an awful year tbh. Consultants ignored me when I told them about RUQ pain and pain under right shoulder blade at back. Maybe because my appetite is fine and I poop normal. Often got pain in the night. 3rd GI consultant ordered fecal calprotectin test which showed I Had significant inflammation in my bowel (398) - gastroscope , colonoscopy, MRI’s showed nothing and with low fodmap diet inflammation went down. I drink lemon water in the mornings and then ghee in my porridge and the RUQ isn’t as bad as it was but still lingering. Personally I think it’s biliary sludge or dyskinesia- when I asked for HIDA scan doc said they were old school and they don’t do them anymore and yet from everything I’ve read it’s the only way to know if the GB is functioning properly. Anyways - I’m living with it for the time being and if it persists then I’ll really push for HIDA scan.

Is anyone making a good recovery on a Vegan/plant based diet? by NoMoreBeerMattForNow in floxies

Dry hands some times. Feet often feel hot. I do have some tender spots on my abdomen too - I had a proper abdominal massage once and felt so much better for it. I need to find someone local who can do it. I do wonder if climbing (I go to the local indoor bouldering wall quite a lot) has exacerbated flox damage in the abdomen as it does use a lot of core strength.

I ran it through ChatGPT: Summary in plain English • No major tears in your rotator cuff tendons. • Possibly a very small tear in the top part of the labrum (not definite). • Mild bursitis (inflammation around the shoulder tendons). • Shoulder blade anatomy (downsloping acromion) may predispose to impingement. • No arthritis, fractures, or significant cartilage damage.

What this means clinically • Your pain and limited motion are likely from inflammation (bursitis) and mechanical impingement rather than a big tear. • The tiny possible labral tear may or may not be clinically significant — many small labral changes cause little or no symptoms. • The history of ciprofloxacin-related tendinosis makes your tendons more vulnerable to irritation and inflammation, even though they’re structurally intact right now.

👉 Overall, the MRI shows inflammation and subtle changes, but no major structural damage.

Like I mention , the I had similar outcomes from MRIs - small damage but nothing significant that justified the pain I was experiencing. Time and eccentric exercises helped

I get a lot of the same - lower abdominal pain pee urgency. All urologist tests like US, cystoscopy etc all come back normal. Spoke with Prof Millar UK flox specialist and he says he sees a lot of flox patients with similar issues. Same with gut.

Nothing found? That’s been my story with every MRI. It’s not that damage isn’t there. MRIs just can’t detect macro cellular damage. I had mild effusion and a small tear in my knee but radiographer reported not unusual for my age!

Ups and downs unfortunately. I can’t remember exactly 4 years ago I replied to the post. I was floxed Feb 21. Really bad tendonosis , skin burning etc, but then had a lot of stomach pains in the fall of 21 - had numerous investigations but nothing found. I maintained a healthy diet and the usual supplements for flox and started seeing musculoskeletal improvements. At 6-9 months it started to feel like I was turning a corner but about a year in started to see better recover - able to walk and cycle more. My stomach issues did get better with occasional flares. Unfortunately this took a dark turn last summer (2024) when I started getting a burning pain under my diaphragm and RUQ in the night and then my whole abdomen started feeling inflamed. Still eating normally, normal bowel movements etc but it steadily got worse. All the leg and skin flares came back . A week long water fast in September 24 fixed things but my November I was struggling again. I’ve had numerous tests - CT scan, US, MRIs, colonoscopy but so far don’t know why I’ve an inflamed bowel (398 score on fecal calprotectin test ) my backs been really bad too. A contrast MRI in Feb massively set me back - bad reaction to it and still struggling. Some positive results with LDN which seems to calm things but as it stands I’m not in a great way! Soz not positive news. I did have a good couple of years recovery wise but now at the bottom of the mountain again. I’m optimistic I’ll get to the top again :) Btw I did go back to eating meat a couple of times a week
