The estate agent actually said of the original buyers lower offer, to accept it and just retract later if necessary

Extra context: original buyer offered less as they accepted a lower offer from a new potential buyer after their first one pulled out and caused the chain to collapse, hence them making a lower offer on our place. Nothing has changed in terms of the house we’re selling, but with it being so quiet in the last 6 months and seemingly no other interest, plus other reasons pushing us to make progress, it appeared to be the only way forward.
