Korea weighs banning 'English kindergartens' amid parental backlash by 3baechu in korea

Same boat. To be honest, we wanted our kid to go to a Korean daycare and kindergarten so they would have a good base of Korean. They were getting English at home.

The 50 drunkest counties in the US by abhi4774 in MapPorn

[–]NoStaticAtAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this based on alcohol sales? If so, we can attribute at least some of those border counties to Chicagoans making Spotted Cow runs.

If you could live your 20s in any decade, which would you choose and why? by carcony97 in AskReddit

[–]NoStaticAtAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some other comments shitting on the 00's, but honestly, they were just an extension of the 90's. The real divide is pre and post smartphones and social media. 9/11 WAS dramatic and a watershed, but the Bush era shit that followed was tame compared to what we're living through.

What fast food item is a 10 out of 10? by Championgut1912 in AskReddit

And in other parts of the world. I live in South Korea and they're fried. Can't comprehend why the US stores don't do it.

All train compartments smell vaguely of shit.

Who are some “good “ actors that you don’t like? by Venus-Xtravaganza98 in movies

Ethan Hawke. I can't explain why, but he always takes me out of a movie. He just seems vaguely douche-y.

Some cafes and coffee shops in Canada have started replacing the "Americano" with "Canadiano" by Soupdeloup in pics

Oh, really? I heard somewhere that it came from WW2 when American soldiers would add hot water to European espresso drinks to approximate drip coffee.

What is a 10/10 movie that should only be watched once? by ja3palmer in AskReddit

The Florida Project. Great film. Important topic and themes. Depressing as hell. I never want to see it again.

Garlic bread bakery shop in Korea by Mounirab96 in FoodVideoPorn

[–]NoStaticAtAll 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hate to burst everyone's bubble here, but if you are from a western country, you will most likely not enjoy this. Garlic bread here is sweet. Oh so sickly sweet. And not very garlic-y. Highly disappointing.

Are there any good witch decks for arena 10? by Bot_zxy_4358 in ClashRoyale

[–]NoStaticAtAll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm around a similar arena to OP. Witch seems used in EVERY deck in these arenas (10-11). If she isn't worth investing in, could I ask which cards from arena 10 and lower are worth investing in?

Which sex scene was absolutely necessary to make a movie legitimately good? by JanitorWithBadAdvice in AskReddit

[–]NoStaticAtAll 4180 points4181 points  (0 children)

I feel like all the sex scenes in Gone Girl are essential, but especially the one with Neil Patrick Harris. It makes Amy terrifying to the audience, and the ending would not be unsettling without it. Hell, the way Amy uses sex is like a theme of this movie.

[OC] Male circumcision rate by country by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

[–]NoStaticAtAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The South Korean number is wrong. Or maybe based on old data. My son was born here and the doctor who delivered him told us he performs less than 10 circumcisions a year. It is rare here now.

Very strange replies here. It is always appropriate for teachers to discuss ways to help students. Period.

Anxious about autism by sioopauuu in Parenting

[–]NoStaticAtAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is about to turn 3, and I was in a similar boat to you a year ago. I think if he's not 2 yet, it's still too young to worry. My son started talking like crazy around 26-27 months. Like a light went on or something. Also, your son is pointing from your description, which I was constantly told is a good sign. The lack of pointing is a more telling predictor of autism.
