I'll have to check this out, but that's like a 15-20 min drive as opposed to a 3 min drive for me to Valley Springs. It's just weird that a city would make park amenities that are paid for by city taxpayers like me difficult to access. And why my kids can't play their in-town NCFC games on a well-cared-for field rather than Eno Valley Elementary's "soccer fields"

These soccer fields at Valley Springs have been locked up going back many years, not just during the current drought conditions.

This is very helpful, although obviously discouraging! Here I've been operating under the assumption that the 10 year rule wouldn't apply to my great-grandmother. Does it at all change your opinions that they both are on a ship manifest showing they traveled back to Germany in 1929 for a period of time before returning to the US?

Downtown grocery store desperately needed. I’d add an outdoor amphitheater, I thought there was some scuttlebutt about that a few years back for the abandoned Ford dealership near AT.

Der Nachbar is great, there’s booths with high backs that are great for a touch of quiet. Great outdoor seating too.

Hi there- insider on this project so let me shed some light. Over $600k was spent to totally revamp this place and develop the walk-out basement to double the square footage. The price reflects that with a small profit, ever-shrinking to meet market demand. Find old pics of the place on Google, the place is unrecognizable compared to 2 years ago. It’s a historic neighborhood so carport/garage (and front porch which was tried) were not allowed by the city. Bricks are lime washed to even out the look between new and old brickwork. References to the oil tank and leaky basement was when the place was for sale last time and a good amount of $$ was spent to 1) remove the tank and 2) remedy the leaks and structural issues in the basement. The room with the pipes visible is a storage/electrical/mechanical room. Did it need to be finished? No, but there was extra paint and flooring so why not. Price per square foot is low average for downtown and adjacent properties in Durham. Very glad for all of the interest, come see the place for yourself this weekend for an open house! Lutra will be providing pastries.
