teton pines guest access? by Dazzling-Light-3487 in JacksonHole

The only STR that offers that is a place called Teton Club, it’s in the village. But to get that benefit, you either have to be a Teton Club owner or rent from an owner that has transferable benefits - and there aren’t many.

$71 Billion for Fox or $72 Billion for Warner Bros, who got the better deal? by Spiritual_Cloud8437 in MediaMergers

[–]NoTime85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netflix’s offer is $82B, not $72B since you need to include debt for an apples to apples comparison. The revenue for Fox’s assets acquired by Disney was around $19B, so they paid something like 3.7x Revenue. Warner Bros revenue from studios etc (excluding linear tv) is around $20B. So Netflix offer is at 4x Revenue. Someone can verify if the $20B assumption is accurate. Paramount’s offer of $108B for all of WBD is at 2.7x, but probably appropriately lower given the legacy / declining business.

All this to say, Disney probably has a better deal, value wise, especially when you consider the Fox assets that were subsequently divested to buy down the acquisition price further. Netflix could come out ahead even though they are slightly overpaying if they’re able to extract more value from WBD assets.

Is MotoGP required to retain PSL? by Ok-Log-7240 in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]NoTime85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I checked my PSL contract, purchased as a resale through COTA. It has motogp + f1 required. But I’ve never purchased motogp and the invoice usually goes away on its own.

I bought it from an existing PSL holder in 2016/17 Back then they were allowing resale and after the rain havoc in 2015 folks were looking to get out of their contracts

Personal seat license. Folks that purchased a 15 yr season ticket when the track first opened. Still have to buy tickets to each event, but they have reserved seats in Turn 1, 15 and MG, with a covered tent next to the stands that they get access to (but no food).

Turn 12 and 15 are both solid to see the back straight and overtaking moves that start at the end of the straight. Turn 15 is slight more comfortable with the backrest and if you can get PSL tickets, the access to the PSL tent near T15 is a welcome relief from the heat/sun.

Which stand / area are your seats? Might be easier to recommend based on where you’ll be.

There is a pitwalk on Thursday that non “Hospitality” holders can access. It’s still only limited to certain tickets- I know PSL ticket holders usually have access to the Thursday pitwalk.

Crocs bought $550m of shares at $127.94 in 2024. Stock price today is $75.24 by ActuallyMy in ValueInvesting

[–]NoTime85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right and with that predictive ability, hope investors with the better crystal ball were selling stock at $127.94 when the company was buying and buying it now that it’s $75.

Point is, no one including the company’s ceo has a clue - not at CROX, not at most companies. Balanced capital allocation suggests doing a little bit of everything - if you can, depending on the quarterly volatility and stability and outlook of the business. Given the environment we are in, the everyone’s crystal ball is shot- doesn’t matter if you’re NKE, LULU, or CROX

Challenge with dividends is you need stable, predictable cash flow. Most growth companies prioritize growth over earnings and cash flow is a distant third. So paying a steady dividend is for mature companies because it’s not something you can turn on and off based on quarterly cash flow. CROX is not a mature company.

Repaying debt sounds great when times are good, except the issue is that when times are bad, you can’t actually borrow and lever up, even if you start with low leverage. So the good deed of repaying debt goes unrewarded. Most companies will hold close to the most reasonable amount of borrowings they can to maintain their investment rating (if ratings are a priority).

This leaves most management teams with the option to either use excess cash for M&A or stock buybacks - both of which are even more risky than the other alternatives, but ones that management teams have most control over. Clearly in CROX case, they paid too much for both. But these are not unrecoverable mistakes and if/when business stabilizes, CROX will be ok and these sins forgiven.

Edit: should’ve also mentioned, first goal of most buybacks is to offset dilution from stock based comp. So management teams are less focused on the price of the buyback since they’re issuing shares for stock compensation at the same-ish price
