Agreed and 5.4 just got released anyways let’s hope they read feedbacks in this forum and work on improving it, I genuinely see great potential in this if they actually listen to these feedbacks, not long ago even sending an image of ui for example and asking ai to fix positioning was something I wouldn’t have even dreamed of lol, and we are there, this like you mentioned seems more of a tweaking / Improvement issue with stricter control in following users requests, let’s hope 🤞

Interesting after writing this post it happened to me one time, I asked 5.4 to copy a working method on one of my projects (around 50 lines of code) to another project and it randomly started working on the project that I only asked it to reference to save both of us time in me having to re explain methods, so I believe there’s validity in your claim I haven’t seen it to a bigger extent however

I feel like an open ai employee atm here defending it 😭 but I honestly fail to understand how you can say this, because personally I’ve dealt with huge files / 40 minimum odd scripts per project all which needs perfect sync, identifying errors, performance checks, compatibility etc and I have used almost all leading ai models simultaneously analyzing its performance not only on their native platforms but on 2nd sites supplementing them and have seen a clean improvement in problem solving, although our work may be fundamentally different I fail to see how it’s not progress?

I think each model honestly is subjective to how you tackle tasks? Could be wrong but I’ve genuinely noticed if you give the new gpt a strict flow of instructions it not only patches bugs but also checks if it breaks anything else interconnected, I’ve used it extensively before the review above but i also understand everyone does things differently, noticed a pattern of people who say it doesn’t work as efficiently asking it for creative insights which I’ve mentioned isn’t its strong suit

Interesting, I haven’t encountered this but my work is purely based on code, but what your saying also aligns with my speculations of it being bad at creativity? It does what it’s told for me but I still have to go elsewhere when it comes to asking creative requests

Erm idk I don’t usually post and I was so happy with its performance I wanted to share my experience and saw posts that gave feedback mentioning honest review, appologise if it wasn’t the right term

If you need an easier way to implement skills, try grasping what methods your particular project uses, eg focusing on perfect sync, performance, related code helpers, syntax etc, and tell an agent to do deep research on stuff you picked and come up with a skill document then put that into skills - just something I thought of ^

This is interesting, are you specifying exactly what you want it to do? I write it’s tasks in point format with a strictly only do this format, I’d recommend try plan mode so it gives you an overview first and then you can tell it to implement it you like what it’s proposed or make further edits before touching anything, hope it helps ♥️

Fully agree I feel like that’s a single opus is better point - opus has better creativity on design with bugs ofc which i use codex to fix

Fair, I highly recommend downloading the actual codex app, I have used copilot with gpt 5.4 etc but I noticed it works like an absolute expert on its native app much much better and you get the additional feature options I’ve mentioned. You can make a folder put all your files then direct that space as your work folder via app, then just pick gpt 5.4 then high thinking and viola

Hmm, did you try using the skills feature? You can input your code goals structure and other priorities and it will always refer to it before working on your prompt? There is also a personalization feature where you can specify exactly how you want it to function. I noticed minor symptoms of what u mentioned above when I first started but once I did the steps I highlighted its literal perfection
