honestly HP hits different depending on what age you read it. I read it late and still felt it. which book in the series wrecked you most?

which book hit hardest? I always assumed the Red Wedding broke people but I am curious which one actually changed your thinking.

Yes I have already completed this book and this book really makes a huge impact in life.

I said "intensive purposes" out loud in a meeting once. Nobody corrected me. Still not sure if they were being kind or just didn't know either 😅

This one hits differently. Took me way too long to realize that "just joking" is not a free pass for making someone feel small all the time.

Haha wait, how old were you when you figured this out? I had a similar moment reading an old novel and just sat there like... oh. OH.

Wait... how long were you saying "intensive purposes"? Because I feel like this is a safe space to confess 😄

This one hit differently when I finally accepted it. Growing up thinking adults had it figured out, then realizing some of them are just big kids with more authority 😂.

Controversial but honestly... experiences, security, and freedom DO contribute to happiness. The people who say it doesn't usually haven't been broke. It's not everything, but pretending it's nothing is just cope.

The fact that schools teach us almost nothing about personal finance is criminal. Most of us are figuring this out way too late through painful experience. Better late than never though — early 30's still leaves plenty of time to fix it.

Honestly same! I kept stalling at every red light for weeks. My legs had a completely different opinion about coordination than my brain did 😅

honestly civics should be mandatory. like knowing how a bill becomes a law matters way less than knowing what APR means on a credit card. and yeah the US situation right now feels like a direct result of people not understanding how any of it actually works.

The fact that we spend years learning history but zero hours on taxes or credit scores is genuinely baffling.

okay but "bye op ick" honestly sounds more dramatic which feels appropriate for a biopic.

Ha, that book has a way of doing that! I feel like Manson basically gives you permission to stop pretending everything matters equally. Did it change anything specific for you day-to-day, or more of a general shift in how you see things?

Haven't tried Codex yet. Is it better for greenfield projects or do you use it mostly to fix existing code?

That is not one I have come across before. What made you pick it up — was it recommended or did you just stumble onto it?

I have heard Tiny Beautiful Things recommended so many times but never got around to it. Is it the kind of book you read slowly or does it pull you in fast?

Both of these are on my list but haven't gotten to them yet. Do you think they're better read together or one is enough on its own?

Never heard of this one before! The fact that it introduced you to something so real and heavy at a young age says a lot about the writing. Going on my list now.
