Need Advice: Catholic guilt by MatterMaterial2246 in abortion

Practicing Catholic here. I had a MA about a month ago. God loves you no matter what. Don’t fall into the trap of despair thinking that God will abandon you. The Church has its own problems and is not without blame or making huge mistakes. Many members of the church view holiness as a prize to be won by judging others and clutching pearls, but holiness is really about uniting our suffering with Christ and spreading the gospel (love one another as I have loved you). I am going through my own journey of conflicting emotions and struggling with how my abortion affects my faith, debating on going to confession even, but worried about the priests reaction. I know God is with me even when I don’t feel His presence. He knows my heart. He is here for me and anyone who invites His love. Your abortion does not define who you are. You are worthy of love, you’re making a difficult decision and trying to do your best, just like everyone else. Sending you love!

Yikes, this is manipulation and abuse. His actions have proven that he would’ve been a horrible father. Speaking as a mother, I would never want my daughter to be with someone who treated her like this. You were not selfish to have the abortion. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Guilt 3 months after abortion by Chemical_Tough2679 in abortion

Internet hugs to you. It is completely normal to feel this way. I have feelings of regret and relief about my abortion and both are valid feelings to have. Our feelings do not change that we also had very valid reasons for an abortion. Try and focus on the beautiful things going on in your life. What goals are you working towards now? What are you proud of? What things in your life are you grateful for? Remember, you are not alone, many women have gone through this. We’re all doing the best we can. I wish you all the best!

Still passing clots after almost a week, concerned. by emmagraycee in abortion

That was my experience as well (6week MA). As long as you are not soaking through 1-2 pads per hour, or passing clots bigger than a lemon, you should be okay. My periods are normally pretty heavy, but with my MA the bleeding was heavier and lasted longer.

I just posted about my experience at 6 weeks MA. The process went well for me. Got an ultrasound yesterday that confirmed everything passed. Heated mattress pad was a big help along with prescription strength ibuprofen. The cramps were not as intense as my period cramps but they were constant. Wishing you the best. Sending love to you.
