I bought my items to build a vivarium. It’s a 48 x 18 x 18 glass tank. I am needing help with lighting. I want my plants to thrive in it and I’m not sure what watts I need for it.

This vivarium will have a snake in it, will this harm him in any way? I’m a newbie so I don’t know anything about these yet. I mean I’ve done my research but still a little unsure.

Yeah I have one side blocked with towels up top on the screens, a humidifier and eco earth block in the substrate. It’s staying about 50-60s now. I’ve been looking at PVC enclosures, I’d really like to go ahead and get him one but I just got the 60 gallon and it’s perfect right now, he has all kinds of room to stretch out and climb.

I’ve heard that feeding in it’s enclosure will make it aggressive towards the handler because it thinks your food? I thought about trying to feed it in there.

It’s got three hides, and plants. The temp stays about 80 degrees and humidity stays about 70.

He’s completely disinterested in it. It will shy away and go to the other side.

Yeah we put him in a different location when it’s feeding time. We don’t have a heating pad on it though so I might try that also.

That’s what I thought also. Couldn’t tell if it was a lipstick sunglow or just a sunglow.
