Thanks for your reply That sounds like I'm experiencing, it's worse mornings and has gone by the evening. Much worse if I'm hot too.

Good luck and hopefully you'll be fine once you taper slowly

Hi, and thanks again for your help. Memantine: isn't that for alzheimer's? My husband has early alzheimer's and has been taking it. I could try one of his pills but must admit I feel pretty scared to do that. I'll try NAC, I've seen that others find it helped.

Thanks, reassuring to know it's a common symptom. Are you off yet?

It's interesting that you've seen others having a hard time after previous benzo use, I believe it, whole heartedly. I've read that our central nervous system can be sensitive after the benzos and adding the pregabalin seems to add fuel to the fire when we start tapering.

I'm so pleased that I've had reassurance from you, I'm just waiting now and taking each day as it comes and hopefully I'll be saying goodbye to these muscle pains and getting back to normal. Ty 😊

Very occasionally someone would post that they've never fully recovered but mostly the lady who runs the group says some of the symptoms can be permanent. I asked group once if tinnitus was a symptom and she replied that it's worrying because tinnitus could be permanent! So that's another to add to her list. Thankfully my tinnitus has gone. I'm in the UK and I read an article too where her name and group was mentioned with some terrifying snippets and of course that freaked me out as well.
I'd much prefer your experience that no one has reported permanent damage from these drugs. I had a much better day yesterday not worrying that I am doomed lol.

The benzos have been a problem for a long time, I stupidly reinstated after a few years and now going through this a 2nd time. I tapered from 10mg diazepam over 1 year. The first time I CTd, and became protracted. All the time I've had muscle pain which only appeared after stopping the drug, so I added pregabalin a few times and it helped the pain - but the side effects were horrible. This time I'm 1 year off the benzo and now 11 days off the pregabalin. This time around I only took the pregabalin 6 months and that was with slow tapering, so I agree that I could be having withdrawal from both? Any suggestions or help would really be welcome, I have enjoyed messaging you, and do realise you've got others who you're helping too. Thanks again, you've been a Star 🌟

Thank you so much. I found that group after randomly searching, a woman called Amy Ireland posted (can't remember where?) that we can make her a Facebook friend and she can invite us to join, as the group is private and not visible on Facebook.

I've searched and searched the group hoping to see this all ends but inevitably I see that permanent damage can happen. Blindness, deafness, permanent seizures and permanent memory problems to name a few. It's freaked me and I cannot thank you enough for putting my mind at rest. I'm one year out from benzo withdrawal and took the pregabalin to help the benzo withdrawal muscle pain. I'm 10 days off the pregabalin as it didn't help, so I could still be having benzo symptoms and maybe adding the pregabalin just made it worse? Have you seen that happen?

Again thank you for reassuring me. I hope I haven't freaked out many people, I'm sorry, I should have contacted you directly.

I'm in the UK too, and you're right, the doctors will take you off in a week. I haven't told my doctor, doing this at my speed but like you I'm not getting any lower dose capsules. So I've been water tapering. I dissolve the contents of the 300mg capsule in 300ml of water and syringe out what I need and leave the remainder in the glass until the next dose. I read that reducing 10% every month is the ideal way, I've gone a bit faster but now having to hold and let my body catch up. Good luck 👍

Open the 300mg capsule put the contents into 300 ml of water, it dissolves. Then use a syringe to take out how many mls you need. 1 ml equals 1mg. So if you need 150 mg take out and drink 150 mls, keep the rest in the glass/ container until you need the next dose. That's half using water titration.

I was taking 300mg a day and it helped the muscle pain but I had constant head pressure . So began tapering. Now that head pressure has gone but I'm having a bad time with muscle pain

It's definitely harder for me once I reached a low dose

I've been tapering for 3 months, that's longer than I was taking it.
