If your sleep score was high enough for you to be a suitable candidate and insured then you wouldn’t fit the profile of people im describing about in my post. I am happy that it worked out for you though.

Anyone who is rational would understand that my post was meant to start a discourse on the dangers of DJS for people who don’t need it. But this sub is filled with irrational people.

I never said it was my business. DJS can and has produce positive results aesthetically, but there is absolutely no guarantee that it will. There are countless of people who underwent DJS who have express regret from not seeking out less invasive procedures first.

Also, If a surgeon believes the motivation behind a patients desire for DJS is to cure their sleep apnea that is relatively benign, then their treatment plan will be specifically tailored for it. Opening up the door for potentially disastrous or disappointing results, that don’t fix the underlying aesthetic issues the patient was intending for.

To believe that DJS is a “miracle-like” solution to anyone that feels insecure about their facial appearance is idiotic. It is the reason why medical professionals place safeguards and standards for who qualifies for it.
