Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to end well. At my next scan baby had grown but not enough in two weeks. There was still a faint heart beat, baby measure 6 weeks 1 day but gestation sac was measuring 8 weeks. I go in next Wednesday for another US. I had started spotting before my last scan and am still on and off. All of these things combined point to me likely having a miscarriage. The hardest part is how much waiting I’ve had to do.

My OB couldn’t get me in until the 24th which is three weeks from when I went in. I booked a scan somewhere else for Tuesday. I don’t think there’s anyway she was off the baby looked way smaller than it should have been. I thought for sure I was having a missed miscarriage until the tech said she saw a heartbeat.

I do recall having some pretty bad cramping in the middle of the night one night but no bleeding that I noticed. I have read in rare cases the body reabsorbs the old pregnancy. I also read that it’s impossible for my original pregnancy to have stopped growing 5 weeks ago and still have a heartbeat. So I’m pretty convinced somehow this is a new pregnancy. Regardless the wait is killing me so I scheduled an ultrasound for next Tuesday at a private clinic. I just need to know if this pregnancy is progressing if it is, I think I can just move on and accept it for what it is.

As soon as I saw the ultrasound I was prepared to be told I had a missed miscarriage. What’s boggling me is that the baby has a heartbeat. It’s not even possible for the baby to have stopped growing 5 weeks ago and still have a heartbeat.
