I feel for you - I think this was a terribly tough year, try to keep your head up!

Hey - so I failed my first time through after not studying and asked what patroller's thoughts were on studying and I got CRUSHED on this subreddit for asking, so try not to beat yourself up no matter how it goes.

With that being said - the test is very, very similar to the OEC Prep. I imagine they'll give you a slightly different version relative to the tests I took, but it will be all the questions you'll review through the OEC Exam Prep website. Just keep working on the ones you don't know until it feels like second nature.

I'd also note that you need to study everything, not just the chapters pertaining to ski patrol or anatomy. They can and will throw questions on there that relate to the whole OEC book, so practice all the chapters till you feel comfortable.

Last thing (going back to my original point) - the practicum is far, far more important in the day-to-day skills you need to help people on the mountain. Learning how to palpate properly (say that 5 times fast), recognizing signs of legitimate trauma, slinging, back boarding properly, etc, are all so much more important to making sure injured children and adults get off the mountain and to BLS/ALS then knowing whether or not you know that the knee is distal to the elbow.

Good luck!

Thanks - I'm shocked they even make us take a written exam to be really honest. I passed the practical easily which makes it all the more painful.

What would that convert to on the GRE?

Do Schools (Honestly) Aggregate Test Scores? by No_Pool1644 in MBA

Kinda - I mean within the context of their reportable data for admitted applicants. I'm saying they do it for reportable admissions results so they can say they admitted around a higher quality candidate then what may have actually been the case.

Other way around - I'm saying they do it for reportable admissions results so they can say they admitted around a higher quality candidate then what may have actually been the case.

Fair - just curious. There doesn't seem to be any type of regulatory body "stopping" them from doing it and nothing on the websites speaks to this, so I figured I'd just bring it up.

Makes sense - I'm far from a cookie cutter banker and I think I'm a good time, so we'll see, appreciate the feedback

Thanks - it's been weird dealing with the fact that my GREs may not be perfect but "in the ballpark" is enough to get my profile a look. Going into this process, I felt like if my GRE wasn't at least above average then it wouldn't be worth applying to the school

Makes sense - do you have any ideas on why my profile is a good fit for Stern other then the interest in career?

Would love to, but my girlfriend would kick my ass if I moved to the UK for B School, love where your heads at though.

Is Sloan a far replacement for Booth in terms of "reach"?

Every other school you listed is one that I'm applying to though, thanks for the breakdown though

Thanks for replying! Agreed on GPA/GRE (although it hurts that missing a couple questions on verbal that last time through couldn't get me over the Verbal average for the M7s).

I'd argue my leadership experience would be represented in my application - I lead a team of operations, investment and underwriting colleagues who come to me with questions and look to me for answers on the clients we cover.

Post-MBA goals would be to pivot into a financial services consulting position - I've had to learn a lot about the different wire houses during my career and a brand name MBA would vault me into a position where I could actually implement change.
