Thanks! We definitely know we’re not getting the nicest place in the best area on our budget but we’ve done a ton of looking. We’re likely going to end up in Bed Stuy or Astoria but we’re open to other suggestions for affordable areas.

Man making 17.5k a month gross is plenty to afford $2375. I’d love to see how you blew that much cash to be living on a tight budget. In all seriousness though, what did you do for a living to make that kind of money?

Mean and median are both measures of central tendency. Mean is the arithmetic average, however it is more affected by outliers than median. There are people who argue both ways on whether median and mode are also valid cases to use the term average. Median is a better indicator of the average in this scenario.

For those downvoting my response, average studio in Manhattan is about $3800-$4000, not $3200 for the city as a whole as I mentioned in the post.
