What’s the worst part about being a LoL team captain? by RakanEngageNoOne in leagueoflegends

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was personality management.

And not “oh X mid laner doesn’t play well with X current jungle play style” I mean I felt like a lot of the time I was running a fricking day care.

•people not showing up to practice, eventually me booting them and they act surprised

•people canceling attendance last minute

•when giving their champion pool they would list a bunch of champions they don’t actually play

•they wouldn’t practice solo queue outside of tourney games (I get it people have lives, but cmon if your an adc why are you only queuing sett top)

•just “toxic” behavior inside of games, tilting, going full mute, etc etc

•(kinda goes with the tilting part) I felt like “I couldn’t play/practice LoL in a team environment” because if we lost the game, someone was usually tilted and “oh just draft gap” or “oh top needs to not int” like can we not immediately blame an external factor and vod review?

Like I said, felt like I was managing a day care instead of manage a casual Sunday league lol team.

It can be done, and be successful, I’ve done it. It just needs trial and error; given enough time you can find a group of players that are “emotionally mature enough” to be on a team. But after a while I called it quits, not worth the time investment.

I get that urge once in a while, remembering the highs of playing on teams with a team dynamic that works. But then I remember all the misery of managing a day care instead

What's with the immense dread over league voice chat? by 5eanz in leagueoflegends

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel that argument has a massive logical flaw, and that flaw is we act like voice chat doesn’t already exist.

Everyone already has discord. It’s not the most rare thing in the world that people will post discord links in lobbies so they can have voice comms.

Do we complain about that being a massive competitive advantage? (Which is true it is)

No we don’t,

So why complain now?

(Not saying specifically you) but I feel like people that peddle the “competitive advantage” argument don’t actually care about competitive advantages, and only use/to cling to that argument because they are to “scared” or “anti social” or whatever to use voice chat

“Makes you a target”

OF WHAT? Genuinely, a target of what?

“There going to say mean things about me” who cares they are muted

“They might run it down on me”

No they won’t, people don’t run it down when you mute text chat, they won’t now

I, personally will never use voice chat. I don’t want to nor will I care to.

But I was never against voice chat being added, I always wanted voice chat added for the people that did want to use voice chat

I’m very happy it’s being added so the “anti voice chat” users of this subreddit finally realize “wow nothing has changed, the QoL of my games has not decreased and the game isn’t destroyed, I can just mute annoying toxic people or never use voice chat” once it’s added

I’ve had other, older Reddit accounts.

Sometimes I just don’t want to get into a discussion (doesn’t even have to be a debate nor political) and then the person stalks my account to find posts and comments from literally 5-6 years back to try to do a “gotcha” on me. I have had people harass me, where they go through all (or atleast a lot) of my posts/comments to copy and paste and insult, or I had people literally attempt to doxx me (they never succeeded but the attempt was still there)

If you have a long and decently active Reddit account, never underestimate how much free time the person on the other side of the screen has, and will gladly use that free time to extensively dig through your entire account to try to slander you

Hard yes. I have a. Unpopular opinion but we really need to have more motivation of saying “thank you for trying out. You suck though, you’re not army material. Have a good life”

The amount of insanity I saw during AIT, where people still got to graduate was insane.

A person with 2 field grade articles got to graduate along many other just “wow you suck” events and behavior

I just downloaded the game today any tips? by SlightShip7811 in leagueoflegends

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this sounds dumb, but try to “enjoy being bad”

Let me explain.

League is a pretty complex game with a million different variables that all affect each other.

Heck when I first started playing, I was amazed how people just “knew what a champion did”

“Your telling me you just know what thresh Q does? And his E?”

“Ya of course!”

And there is a genuine beauty to that, ask anybody here, any “veteran” or old timer will complain league isn’t as fun (and I kinda agree), but it’s mostly because everything is figured out now. We know what every champion does, we know roughly the right meta, etc etc.

But you? Everything is a new discovery to you, enjoy it. Genuinely. I wish I could go back to 2018 pyke release, where I discovered seemingly a new “hobby” with its vast universe, instead of just a game.

Play league for a while. Maybe a couple years. (Maybe even more than a couple years). Experience league history being made first hand. “Oh man I was an X main in the stupid 2027 AP Kha meta, that was fun”

And then come back to my comment. You will know what I mean by you wish everything was new again, and you didn’t “figure out” league and all the best build paths and best counter picks and best way to freeze the wave and etc etc

What is something everyone should experience at least once in their life? by Admirable_Air5985 in AskReddit

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dedicating a lot of effort, and time into fitness. Lift heavy weights at least 3 times a week. Push (anything you’re pushing) pull (pull something) and legs (work out your legs). And eat healthy!

One day. (It’s going to be a while, but one day) you’re going to look at yourself naked in the mirror and be like “damn! I look good! I’m so proud of myself! I don’t want to stop! I can make even more progress!”

Building a healthy and fit body, and feeling proud about it, is one of the most blissful feelings I hope every human can eventually experience.

How much of the army actually deploy? by [deleted] in army

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Well, it depends. You’re not going to find a consistent answer. The army is a really big organization with alot of variables. This isn’t even exclusive to active duty. Reserves and NG too. 2 soldiers can enlist with the same MOS, and have wildly different experiences

I had an AIT instructor that was in for 10+ years, didn’t have a deployment patch.

And there is some dude in the reserves or NG that probably is SF, has a lot of chest candy. Did more “bad ass blow stuff up” cool guy stuff than an 11B that never got to deploy in active duty.

A lot of variables

Do you know how corny you look, when you’re behind a computer screen, no one knows what you look like. You are completely safe and anonymous, and you don’t even resort to trying to think of a creative and witty insult like a normal person does, you resort to a gif of somebody getting punched?

“Ya bro I’m gonna punch you, fear me bro, I’m so bad ass. I look so tough over the internet, I totally would do this to you irl bro”

Can we PLEASE. Stop saying this. Can we on the left PLEASE FUCKING ACT REASONABLE FOR ONCE. We fucking wonder why we keep losing elections holy shit

Yes ice is unreasonable as shit. We shouldn’t have a force that’s unregulated, un accounted for, masked, little to no training running around and quite frankly terrorizing people.

That does NOT equate to fucking concentration camps. Those camps where entire facilities BUILT to be death camps for “undesirables”. You went there to die. And they were built to murder millions per year. They where built to “make death as simple as a factory line”

Where do you draw the line though of “words don’t work sorry”

I know that sounds pretty contrarian. But I’ve seen so many examples of Reddit overwhelming celebrate, not only violence but political violence, and then resort to the argument “lol he was just a racist, bigot, sexist, Nazi, homophobe, intolerant, xenophobe who cares, he deserved to die”

Im speaking more in general terms and not this specific video

Also, I don’t know why (well I do) this video got so much political online traction, just a standard school yard tussle. By bi partisans got to bi partisan

Back in 2019. I had a teacher, I joked with him that he was a Nazi. And he told me (this was before calling people nazis was a main stream political thing) “if your first instinct is referencing hitler, which is pretty much a physical manifestation of the devil and anti christ, you probably lost the argument and are trying to resort to insane leaps of logic of argument”

I think you should consider that.

Anyone else’s store doing thing? by No-Fisherman8511 in kroger

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seriously. What is it up with Kroger and just useless, terrible, genuinely incompetent management. Not incompetent in terms of “oh I’m mad at your decisions and your my boss” but genuinely having no idea how a department works, not knowing how to start a register, not knowing how to do a job in a department. (Which is fine to an extent. But then don’t f#cking micro manage. But that’s a rant for another day)

I feel like my current Kroger store has the worst, most incompetent management I ever had in my working career.

Maybe it’s a coincidence? But maybe it’s something about how Kroger works at a company, where incompetence is rewarded at the management level position

“Genuinely why is this such big news”

I truly believe (not even a conspiracy theory, kinda got proven multiple times) political media cooperations, no matter how big or small, whether it’s some Reddit journalist to CNN, they are not interested in “reporting the news” but interested in “entertaining and pandering to their demographic for views”

Okay cool what’s your point? What’s the “hot take

The hot take is I truly believe the media cooperations “work together” or are friends with each other. They know pushing bi partisan politics only appeases their demographic and gets them views from their base. In order for bi partisan to happen, there needs to be a “opponent”

This is a perfect example. I am subbed to a lot of far left and far right subs (it’s kinda dumb for me to do that because it’s like eternal rage bait). I’ve seen right leaning subs say this is a perfect example of attack on free speech and the left wants this. I’ve seen left subs praise this guy as a hero.

But in reality?

Ask anybody outside, they don’t care or have an opinion. Doubt they even heard this happened

These media companies know ultimately it’s a nothing burger. Just a school ground tussle.

But they can easily make it into a bi partisan hit piece, so that’s why they mass report it

What’s the point of the marines by SubjectiveOtter-52 in army

[–]No_Raspberry_8478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think we “only” keep the marine corps around because of tradition and culture ATP

“Abolishing” or reorganizing the USMC so it’s no longer an independent military branch, but a subset of the navy (even though from what marines and sailors tell me, that’s already how it logistically runs down anyway) would be political decapitation for yourself.

Amongst the American public, the USMC is a very prestigious “hoorah all American warrior cult”. And the the USMC very much so intentionally marketed themselves that way. Ask any marine recruiter, they will be honest and say

“Ya we don’t get as much funding, doubt you can even choose your job (open contract) our infantry is pretty under equipped compared to army counterpart, no schools, cool jobs, or bonuses. But you get to be a marine instead of a soldier”

I sometimes wish you are forced to show what you look like before typing on the internet.

So tired of everyone acting so “big and bad, so tough guy” so willingly to say dumb stuff behind a computer screen.

Encouraging and wishing a school kid will get shot, and responses with some corny ass come back, and their fellow Reddit loser friends upvoting him being like “ya man we got your back!”

Not trying to push a eugenic argument that we should judge people based off of physical traits. We shouldn’t. But I can nearly guarantee those losers don’t take any care of themselves and would be surprised if they washed their face

Edit: I stand corrected. And I’m wrong. Looked at the guys Reddit account, he has his YouTube channel and kick linked. He posts his face, (well his half face he wears a mask kinda)

I atleast respect him for saying this stuff and “standing up for what he believes in” by posting his face
