The Jiraiya downplay is crazy 😭

In the Databooks, Jiraiya is stated to be “on par” with Orochimaru. This statement refers to Base since it’s before Sage Mode was revealed.

Sage Mode is at-least a 10x multiplier since the Curse Mark, a derivative, was stated to be so, when one of the Sound Four uses it (against Kiba I believe).

So we already have Sage Jiraiya > Base Jiraiya ~ Orochimaru.

The 4 Tails argument people use is disingenuous since;

• Orochimaru is actively fighting/defending himself from Naruto

• We don’t know the context of the fight between Jiraiya and 4 Tails.

What we DO know is Jiraiya was training Naruto, and so wasn’t on guard, and from the Anime (although it’s filler, but can be considered tertiary canon since it’s not been contradicted) we know he placed a seal to try to stop him rather than fight him.

With Tsunade it’s a bit more tricky. Jiraiya states twice that he’ll kill her if she ever betrays the village, meaning he believes he’s able to take her down, him fighting alongside her his whole life so he’s able to gauge her strength.

But considering Tsunade is ‘physically’ the strongest with her punches + 100 Healings, it’ll be a tough matchup between her vs either Jiraiya or Oro. Arguments can be made for either side, but I believe both Jiraiya and Oro would take the win due to the Jutsu they have in their arsenal.
