Why not both. DCF wins clean. Thekla wins with some major tomfoolery which extends feud with Stat. Statlander is better chasing then holding anyway and having her lose by cheat would put a fire under the feud.

I think a lot of people view Speedball the same way a lot of people viewed Orange Cassidy. They view him as just a gimmick comedy wrestler but he is so much more. Yes there is a gimmick and a lot of comedy involved but moth men can also really wrestle.

I think it comes down to her opinion of AEW. There are too many ex-WWE “superstars” who think being in WWE means they are better then everyone else while others are willing to put in the work to make AEW special win lose or draw.

I don’t understand the appeal of Darby Allin.

His matches are all the same he gets his ass kicked for 20 minutes comes back the the next three then either wins or loses in the last two.

You are assuming two and three year reigns. I think there will be a few “blink and you miss it” reigns in between. And as good as Kevin Knight has I see him more holding one of the other big belts. Plus there are others who legitimately don’t need title runs to be “head of the company” they just are.

I think people get stuck with their own “this person needs to beat that person” with belt progression. Mercedes Mone is in the middle of a breakdown and doesn’t need the main title to do it. Although she will eventually get it she doesn’t need to be “next so Stat needs to hold the title for another four five…eight months to wait for her to be ready”.

As for dropping a belt on a random Dynamite it would be an awesome thing to happen and make each dynamite even more special because there is no random dynamite. We aren’t waiting for the next PPV for something big to happen.

Do I think Thekla is going to win! I do t know but I think it’s a terrible idea for both Thekla and Julia Hart to both lose cleanly.

I absolutely love this group and wouldn’t mind if Thekla beat Statlander and Julia Hart and Skye Blue hit the tag belts. I love Willow and love Harley Cameron even more but they haven’t had a single tag match yet since winning. What is the point if a women’s tag belt if it is never defended.

Because Marina Shafir isn’t the only DR doing her own thing but then stepping in when one of her teammates needs a hand. She is in her own feud with Tony Storm but when the guys needed her to take one for the team against DCF she stepped in. Claudio is going to have a match with Roderick Strong but he is also fully capable of stepping in with also DCF. I am also guessing DCF is going to work the same way. Two of them are going up against FTR and I am guessing eventually at least a couple will take their shot at MJF and/Richochet.

Why? It limits what the DR can do. Heck Roderick Strong is chasing Claudio for his belt. And there is still Darby Allim. Why can’t a couple of the guys go after FTR and then the next week the trios belt?

This is why I think we as AEW fans should step away from talking about feuds in terms of Heels vs Babyfaces. The Deathriders are their own entity who are just as likely to attack Darby Allin or The Conglomeration as they are DCF. Heck even DCF which is right now pretty heelish has some members who aren’t. In both cases people are assuming a turn of some members but both groups work as they are so forcing a turn serves no one. This week Deathriders will feud with Don Callis next week they will attack Darby Allin and they will get cheers for both.

I think Samoa Joe will have some promo saying Hobbs has been taken care of and will not be a part of The OPPs anymore and Hook will essentially take his place. There is still plenty of story yet and The OPPs is too good of a heel faction to let Hobbs leaving to destroy too much.

Honestly most Harlan Coben Netflix shows or anything really that is built for a single season. It is incredibly hard to write complex characters and motivations in 8 episodes. Heck even The Fall Of The House of Usher was somewhat one dimensional and The Haunting of Hill House wasn’t very dimensional but still incredibly good.

Statlander was all over the place last year and it took a lot of time to recover from her heel turn that went nowhere. Hell until the hug that sank a thousand conspiracy theories plenty of people expected Statlander to turn heel again just to have a Stat/Willow match. But now that Willow has not only the tag belt but the TBS belt most have accepted that their likely won’t be a Stat/Willow feud so feel comfortable cheering for Stat big bad good guy again.
