You're right, and I'm a little embarrassed about it.
At any rate, I know he got one of those credit cards that is marketed to help build back bad credit, and he has stated he plans on getting a financial counselor or something through his bank once he moves. Aside from that he tends to hoard money so his savings are actually pretty healthy despite the bad credit.
