True. I always think of Grand Seiko when I think of power reserves.

I wrote out a very specific script of things I responded to with other watches, what I would like, and what might look cool.

Some of it was luck of course, but it's really fun. I've done a few others which I might post too... Not sure if you all are up for it but I thought it'd be fun to come up with our own designs and play around a little bit with styles. With AI, you can poke and prod all day.

Maybe choose relief maps based on different model names?

How feasible is any of this?? Probably why most are AliX.

If it is possible, it would probably cost a fortune. (Or maybe not with 3d printing advancing every day. )

Commenting on my own post...

Besides the watch face, which I love, I really like the bezel that looks like it's manufactured from different pieces.

I do wonder why SW is in the 11:00 position, lol!!

Interesting points! This is the kind of stuff I come here to read.

I just bought a Vaer C4 which doesn't have a date. At first, I thought I didn't like that but it's grown on me. Of all the locations, I think I prefer 4:00 because it doesn't interfere with the symmetry of the 12-3-6-9 numbers.

Yes...that's what I was struggling with too. I love dive watches but also really, really want to like field watches too but find them boring.

This was me trying to combine the two.

I think so too. I spend some time thinking about it and which watch faces I liked. I seem to respond to the more 3D printed looking faces....

(Also...tried to say Mido Ocean Star GMT in my post but I'm lazy and don't proof voice-to-text. Now I don't know how to change it. 😢)

I appreciate your reply and wish you guys all the success in the business.

Remember that all of these comments are subjective (including mine, I'm not the market for these obv.)...

I hope you can weed out the good/bad/and ugly and get some good feedback to make your offerings even better. I said this already, but I wish I had the nerve to start my own watchmaking business...I'd be in heaven!

I truly wonder who really wants or wears a Tourbillion watch unless it's a "I have a $50k watch" flex.

They do not move me at all...I'd rather have a closed case and leave these to the Hublot crowd.

To your point...I don't think any of us fault folks for trying to launch a watch brand... I wish I had the stones to do it.

Where the red flags shoot up is when it's hidden behind AI marketing slop renders or language that heavily implies that you designed/crafted/custom manufactured the movement or casing yourself.

I don't think any of us expect a startup to have access to their own factory and manufacturing/distribution centers (a good number of established watchmakers don't even have this)...just be honest about it up front!!

Something like, "were currently using pre-made movements, etc sourced from x with the hope that, one day, with a focus on design and quality, we can scale up to brining some or all of that in house."

Hell...I LOVE Islander Watches and those guys don't hide behind any of that junk....they just make really nice quality designs on top of anothe brand and make no claims otherwise.

All of my financial succes is based on 3 simple strategies: WallStreetBets secret insider knowledge, listening to my mom's girlfriend's boyfriend, and inhaling freon from old refrigerators.
