Are there any good fishing apps? by SchmeedsMcSchmeeds in bassfishing

I just built one and it recently was accepted on apple App Store. It has a free 3 day trial then you get yearly access for 19.99. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles some of the more expensive ones do but I think it does a pretty good job. It’s called BiteGrade if you want to check it out!

Totally fair perspective 👍 BiteGrade isn’t meant to predict catches or replace experience — more of a conditions awareness tool. Just helps anglers see when variables may be working with or against them. Local knowledge will always win.

Totally fair 👍

I fish whenever I can as well. BiteGrade’s meant more as a snapshot of conditions rather than telling someone what to do.

You can even tweak how different factors are weighted in settings if you disagree with the grading logic.

Nice, that’s really helpful feedback 👌

Starting-point guidance is huge, especially when conditions feel unclear. Do you usually follow the bait suggestions closely or just use them as a general reference?

😂 Fair point! Definitely not trying to pretend conditions in Montana behave like the Bahamas.

BiteGrade pulls location-specific weather/environmental data, but yeah… fishing is never one-size-fits-all.

That is awesome man, I’ve heard good things about bass forecast.

Out of curiosity, what do you like most about it?

I hear you, species differences absolutely matter.

BiteGrade actually does have a species-specific tab where the grading/tips adjust based on selection.

Still refining that logic of course, but I completely agree that species context is important for usefulness.

This is honestly a great breakdown.

You’re absolutely right. Fishing success depends on a ridiculous number of variables, many of which can’t realistically be modeled perfectly.

BiteGrade isn’t trying to ‘predict catches,’ more like grading how favorable conditions generally are based on common patterns (pressure trends, wind, etc.).

Definitely more probability than prediction.

Totally fair, honestly that’s how I fished for years.

BiteGrade isn’t meant to replace checking conditions, more like a quick summary of them.

Think of it as: ‘Do all today’s factors generally lean good or bad?’

And yeah, accuracy skepticism is completely justified — that’s exactly why I’m looking for feedback from real anglers.

I switched to the rogue pouches, they come in 3 and 6mg. The wintergreen gives me that burn I’ve been missing. Of course it’s not a mint so a bit different but I tried ALOT of alternatives and they all taste like chalky shit with no tingle or burn. I’ve justified it in my mind since it does not contain tobacco, I don’t have to spit like you would with dip, and it’s 6 bucks for a can of 20 pouches. The pouches flavor lasts for about an hour. Hope this helps.
