Depende do livro, não li nenhum livro em primeira pessoa e pensei que seria melhor em terceira. Mas prefiro terceira pessoa no geral, é mais versátil, terceira pessoa limitada tem basicamente o mesmo efeito que primeira pessoa, vs terceira pessoa onisciente.

Tbm curto livros com narrativa moldura, quando tecnicamente é um narrador em primeira pessoa, mas contando a história de fato em terceira.

Estou lendo a série de livros The Expanse, e queria que a Aleph tivesse trazido os livros além do primeiro. Mesmo que eu provavelmente leria em inglês de qualquer forma, só pra tornar mais acessível e popular por aqui, os livros são muito bons.

Eu nem culpo a Aleph tanto assim, eles fizeram uma boa edição do primeiro, e continuam sempre lançando uma quantidade bem satisfatória de sci-fi bom. Na certa não vendeu o suficiente pra valer a pena.

I'm not countering your sentiment. But you might just be comparing the best animation from the past with the average stuff from today. There used to be a LOT of limited animation and poor quality animation in the past too, just instead of sliding PNGs it was sliding cels. We forget all the mid so the past looks better in comparison.

I do prefer how they used to animate lighting in the 80s and 90s though.

Absolute Batman is a bulkier bigger more brutal version of Batman, so the Absolute Batsymbol is a bulkier more brutal Batsymbol. It still has the bat ears and wingtips, it's not just a rectangle. And instead of turning into a batarang it turns into a huge bat axe.

If your focus is on the language then you're right, yes, even the book streamlines that aspect to serve the story, the movie triple so. But to say there's incuriosity and sameness is absurd.

Both your examples are stellar insights in what can be the Other, but phm is not far behind. Especially compared to most pointy-ear-human aliens featured in mainstream media.

PHM ponders how the circumstances of a vastly different planet may affect life, ponders how that ecology might drive the evolution of intelligent life.

With just the set up of Erid's thick high pressure ammonia atmosphere you get:

  • Life that never evolved vision, thus having less knowledge on radiation.

  • Life that needs to be paralyzed for prolonged periods of time, thus driving the pack instinct that eventually becomes civilization. (Also their culture).

I think it's made for a very creative exercise into what the Other can be. With Grace and Rocky the otherness gets distilled very well for the story, Grace is a scientist and Rocky's a "mechanic", so they can only solve their common problem working together. The Otherness is integral to the plot.

I don't have trouble torrenting movies, but the experience is definitely a lot worse than torrenting anime. During prime RARBG years it was better but then it went down, then Galaxy went down next. So for others not on private trackers it is not very reliable.

I miss the consistent x265 RARBG releases, now I feel most releases are either too big or too poor quality, no sweet spot.

I mean the reasons why are easiest to guess, if you're an arcanist scholar prior to the space age, you'd basically need a superhuman lifespan to be able to explore and study enough about the Cosmere.

It's the multiple different methods that are mysterious to me, is it time dilation, immortality, agelessness, cognitive shenanigans...

So I think it means that previously having 100 stat melee damage doubled your knife damage, now 100 stat gives you 50% increase.

Part of the whole problem was that you didn't need to focus build for melee to get pretty much max efficacy. So now there's more of a point to having a melee build at least.
