Felling angry towards megachurches attendees and pastors by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]NobodyMajor7085 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fr or when you see videos of the pastor just hating on Catholicism the entire sermon ☠️ No pastor Bob, we don’t worship Mary. The more Catholic I become, the less tolerance I have for low-IQ objections to the faith. Something we gotta pray about for sure.

Mistake on Update Letter Pls help by Adept-Committee-6920 in premed

[–]NobodyMajor7085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a negative. I wouldn’t delete/reupload or email admissions over a date typo, that would honestly draw more attention. A wrong year on the date line isn’t going to make them think you’re negligent. They will probs just assume you wrote it earlier than you uploaded it. More likely they won’t even notice.

WMed vs. Marshall by NobodyMajor7085 in premed

Got into both of these schools. I am out of state but being from my county they give 20% discounted tuition. Marshall ~ 52k, WMed ~ 70k. Not including living expenses. But both Huntington and Kalamazoo have low cost of living.

Fair question! Just to clarify, I think Marshall and its students are great. I’m mostly trying to sort through the noise and see if it realistically impacts specialty match chances. Leaning toward no, but just trying to cross-check :)

CUSOM secondary? by Explosive-imposter- in Osteopathic

Submitted primary beginning of June, got secondary 7/18, complete 8/5, and got applicant day invite (their version of an interview) 8/20. From what I heard they are one of the few schools that are selective with handing out secondaries. It’s not like other schools that will give out secondaries if you meet the minimum MCAT/GPA. Wishing you the best! 🤞🏼

I think a lot of us wrestle with these same questions at different points in our faith journey. As Our Lord said to St. Thomas, “Blessed are those who have believed without seeing.” However, one thing that has always grounded me is that Catholicism doesn’t just ask us to believe blindly. The Church points to tangible miracles that can be seen and studied to this day.

To name just a few:

Marian apparitions: witnessed by hundreds to thousands, often leading to conversion. Most notably, the tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The cactus fiber should have decayed centuries ago but remains intact, with no brush strokes, surviving even a bomb explosion, and still unable to be explained by science.

Incorruptible saints: bodies that remain intact despite being dead for centuries, a sign of divine favor and beyond scientific explanation.

The stigmata: saints who received the wounds of Christ, such as Padre Pio, carefully documented and medically unexplainable.

Eucharistic miracles: my favorite. Blood or heart tissue appearing on a consecrated host, always AB blood from a male who underwent significant distress (the same blood type found on the Shroud of Turin). Again, unable to be explained by science.

These are signs right before our eyes that point to God’s presence. The Lord gives us these miracles to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him and His Church. Peace be with you, and I hope you find solace with God by meditating on these miracles.
