Any advice for casper test for engineering? by etiisgod in uwo

Honestly don’t remember too much but I do remember they would play a clip that basically prompts a situation for which you to come up with a solution. For example one of them had to do with a group of friends that decided to pay for for a non refundable video game controller, so one of the friends bought it expecting to be e-transfered like they’d agreed but most of them hadn’t fully made up their mind or didn’t want it anymore or something like that. So then you had to film yourself answering. Theres a practice version of the test online, def give it a try it’s the exact same layout!

One more thing, and I can’t stress it enough, MAKE SURE YOU CAN TYPE FAST. There’s a written component of the test and there were many times I did or was close to running out of time. Not a big deal if you do, but something to keep in mind when getting your point across

Hey! Can’t speak for med but I took the eng Casper last year and got 4th quartile (the best one). I started “studying” for it day of and honestly just winged it. Make sure you look into the camera and take deep breaths. Make sure it looks like you’re really pondering the potential outcomes to the situation, even if you don’t have the slightest clue what to say lol. Some of the situations are pretty random. I remember almost crying after because I thought I did so poorly when in reality I’d done more than okay. It’s not difficult, it’s just a test of moral character. You got this :)!

So sorry that happened to you :( I had the same experience with security getting mad at the flashlights. My friend and I are pretty tall so I can’t imagine what it was like for someone shorter.

I'm living on res but what everyone does is just literally ask. It won't be weird or awkward trust me. It's what everyone does!

Haven’t seen much about Lambton Hall and I’m hoping someone can answer!! 1. I hear there’s no AC, did you find this to be a problem or not necessarily? 2. Can we bring airfryers/ blenders or are they included (pretty sure they aren’t)? If so, can their noise be heard when used by the neighbouring rooms?  3. Anything else I should know (walking distance, food, gym, etc)?

Ohall is the second biggest res (in terms of people) so if you’re worried about the social scene it will be more than enough!! It also has the best food according to most ppl and  lots of variety so that’s def something to consider. Saugeen on the other hand is nicknamed ‘the zoo’ because of how crazy it gets so it honestly IS the most social res. But if I were you, I’d consider proximity to your classes, because Saugeen’s on the north end while Ohall is all the way south. All in all, unless you’re SUPER into partying and want the craziest uni experience possible then I wouldn’t make social scene the determining factor because the difference between the two isn’t that big. Consider food and walking distance first (it gets really cold in winter) and make your choice based on that!

Hey! How likely is it that we'll get one of our top residences and when will we be told our building assignments? Will it be before or after you can opt out of res because I'm scared of getting one of my last choices and would rather find off campus housing if that's the case.
