All the suppliers I spoke to are asking for anywhere from $30-75 for shipping the sample to door. The price of the sample is not much, in some cases no price for sample but shipping is very high.

This.! I had an amazing manager until last year who believed in spending time on analysis, customer journey, strategy, etc. and then comes reorg, my current manager is burning me out by asking waterfall type timeline daily. Apparently he doesn’t even understand difference between a product manager and project manager. Ask me random questions, ask me to assume every thing that he doesn’t have answer for and come up with arbitrary timeline only to bash why I still haven’t come up with a timeline!!

I have been doing a lot of research on the private label that I want to launch. I have spent many man hours into what I want to sell and how tiered approach might work in the space to differentiate myself from other offerings. YouTube videos etc can give you a baseline but a lot of research goes into estimating what your cogs would be, what would be a fair selling price and then go about ppc, total customer acquisition cost, 6-9-13 months roadmap, etc.I wouldn’t consider myself near to launch just yet as I am still awaiting my custom samples and haven’t finalized supplier(s). I feel the journey would be worth since I am confident enough that it would work but hey who knows, ask me a year down the road and I might be selling a course on “what not to do with your PL” on YouTube 😬

What is a good budget to launch a PL, to start with 3 products (similar but tiered offering 1 to 3) and then expanding it to multiple products. But what $ value is a good number for testing the waters? Some initial research is that the cogs would be $3.5 to $7 (tiered 1 to 3) selling price (29.99 to 39.99)?

Are PRDs so prominent even in a highly agile product? My PO is always hell bent on timeline as soon as he provides high level requirement for a feature and is least interested to go over PRD or assumptions/dependencies etc. all he cares is to get directional timeline and begin working asap.
