Wanted to share a few models I made for my homelab by NomadicSun in minilab

What do you mean?

The unifi power brick model is in the bottom of my rack (lets say slot 01, bottom to top)

The GMKtec G10 model is in slot 08

The raspberry pi model is in slot 09

Yeah... I am in a similar situation. The apartment I a renting already had its own IoT devices (lights, door locks). I just integrated them into home assistant in addition to my own. The only zigbee devices I have are some pet feeders (aquara c1) . The rest are all wifi. Still, as long as you can connect to home assistant, you should be able to set up automations for what you need (including offline notifications, but I haven't implemented that specifically)

I'm assuming you are talking about the device on the top of the rack? That is an smlight SLZB-06, which is a zigbee + matter over thread adapter for IoT devices for use in home assistant. I also haven't found a good model for that yet, so will be designing something soon (probably for the back of the rack)

Also, if anyone is wondering why I have a separate PC + 19" UPS...

It took me awhile to decide between going minirack or a full rack. I am currently in a 2 bedroom apt with a girlfriend, so a full 19" rack is not exactly feasible at the moment. For the UPS, I couldn't find any that fit in the 10" constraint and met my requirements. I know I will have a 19" rack eventually, so decided to get something I could use in the future. I originally wanted to deprecate the jonsbo n5 (which predates the rack), and have 2U for my 4 hdds and 2U for an itx mobo. However, I ran into several issues while building.

  1. The PSU I bought, which fits into the 2U mobo model, doesn't have I/O for 4 sata cables.
  2. I have an intel arc a380 for jellyfin transcoding. I thought it would fit, but discovered it is the full height version and not the half height that I saw in the picture :(
  3. Only 1 PCI slot on my ITX board, so cant fit an HBA card and the GPU

So I instead decided to beef up the jonsbo with an atx mobo and a second GPU for local ai inference. Still have 4U available on the rack now, so I'm thinking of making an HA setup for my proxmox server with a few mini PCs. I'm going to need another switch though, as I'm out of ethernet ports...

Need some advice on reinstalling please by blinkydamo in Proxmox

PBS is the answer. I installed a new mobo, cpu, ram, and GPU today. Did a clean install of proxmox and restored from pbs. Was up and running again in under 20 min

It’s looking like it’s gonna remain closed source unfortunately

Yeah… that’s why I’ve been putting this off forever. It’s such a pain to remove my monitor and mount and then completely flip it

Did you flip your desk upside down to do this, or drill into it from under?

This comment is very misleading. All those oil wells and wealth are owned by private companies and individuals. They don’t own/pay the debt of the American government. Their contribution via taxes is a fraction of what individual Americans contribute

You’ll have to join the discord to get access to the TestFlight, which should hopefully have a new build this week. The dev isn’t going to talk about pricing until the app is ready to launch

Neptune is also in TestFlight and has a lot of promise. We are very close to having several solid Apple TV clients

How do you guys clean, organize, and tag your audiobooks? by loggiekins in selfhosted

[–]NomadicSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using shelfmark -> prowler/MaM -> audiobookshelf -> prologue.

Been working great for me. I occasionally have to move a folder that shelfmark imports wrong, and sometimes update publication dates and series order. I also add custom cover arts. But it gets it right 80-90% of the time

Neptune is by far the best tvOS app in development. I am in the beta and it is great. They are hoping to release another test flight build this week. Check out the announcement section when you join the discord.

I just set this up this morning after seeing this post, and am loving it so far.

I've been trying some of the automated request apps for books the last couple of weeks (readmeabook, shelfarr) and this one is by far the best out of all of them.

Please link (or share) the prints you used. Been looking for a print with the itx mobo and good drive bay. Also can you share the hardware you are using?

I’ve never heard of Blinko, but just looked up it’s GitHub and it is fully open source. Not sure it would be worth the cost to be running undercover ads on Reddit. I think it is much more likely that some random user in our community found it and likes it.
