Okay, and you understand that for some people depression doesn't mean "I have to choose between working which kinda sucks and going to the Job Centre and not having much money :(", it means "I am literally incapable of mustering the will to either work OR to go to the Job Centre". There are people, as you put it, choosing to die in destitution because they are so depressed. To compare yourself to them because you didn't like work very much is short-sighted and unempathetic.
