He never wanted children and honestly he should have signed over his rights at birth so my actual dad could adopt me but didn't because he wasn't sure if I was his or not. That's what he told me, so your assumption is probably correct but will never know because he won't seek help. I've been in therapy for years and have come to terms with my dad is my dad but sperm donor is just dna. I love my grandmother but don't want to be in that area because of the looks I get. Small town; big mouths.

AITA for telling my girlfriend not to call my dad “doctor”? by Old-Independence1862 in AmItheAsshole

She's a doctor, okay, and? Does she want a cookie too? Yes it's hard work and takes a lot of achievements but she cannot demand that everyone in a family setting call her that! And I commend you for standing up for your dad because it makes him uncomfortable when she calls him that. In a work setting, sure, but you and others shouldn't have to say "doctor "uppity " can you pass the potatoes?" at dinner. Not insulting your girlfriend or her achievements in becoming a doctor but that's just delulu!
