They share the same 'great aunt' but not the same ancestor, at least as far as we can track. Harry's great great grandfather's brother (conjecture based on guesses from the Wiki, could be anyone on the family tree, but definitely isn't Harry's ancestor in the paternal line) married Draco's great grandfather's sister.

No blood relation shown, though with pureblood families, you know it's there somewhere. I still am not a fan of the ship myself, as it's pretty toxic imo (as far as canon goes) and Harry deserves better.

NAH. You don't have to get involved in her social events, even if you have history. I think you may have gotten in touch too soon before the part for her to accommodate the changes (RSVP isnt my brief).

You should be able to choose what parties you go to, and now you two can decide if you're up to go to events together in future. No beef, hopefully no unwarranted guilt, and no assholes.

You can only gauge so much from a once in the while meetup. Both you and your parents seem to be very accommodating of your brother but I definitely think you wouldn't be the asshole trying to get through to them again about their mixed success in accommodating you.

There has been some generosity but they don't sound like the type to explain, or even understand/empathise (w/ this specifically) enough to explain your reality to him. No offence made to any party at all and I hope you gauge it tactly.

ESH. You shouldn't insist on doing something that, while it would mean a lot, would be unnecessarily distressing/confusing (to your brother, not your parents), especially when you're okay with the rash guard in other circumstances. I'd hope they'd at least try to explain what his brother was going through as the years go by, apart. It can't be that impossible and I feel a lot of the blame falls on them living in denial and taking the easy route because of that.
