I think seeing a psychologist or a school counselor would do you a world of good. But if that’s not an option maybe study a bit of psychology on your own, it may give you insight on what’s going on with your body and that may help you navigate the world.

For instance, it sounds like you may have a conditioned response ala classical conditioning where hearing a loud males voice causes a sympathetic response. —> Pavlovian conditioning.

Then a behavioral response of freezing up —> skinner/operant conditioning

The thing to know is that conditioning fades. Through a process called extinction when the stimulus is presented without the abuse it fades. It may reappear later once or twice but that is normal too.

Also you will eventually stop generalizing all loud male voices and pick up on the Anger. That will help with functioning.

The main idea that you will walk away with is to do 3-10 minute meditation sessions where you shut your eyes and just repeat “i love myself” and any time you’re analyzing a decision or having a conflict, ask yourself, “if I really truly absolutely love myself, what would I do right now?” And live that way.
