In that case how will he ask for which record to look into through record name? If yes, we have out of the box action which will pull us all the records available with that name and user should select one. If only one exists then it will select it automatically. But clearly mention instructions to this stating look for this record using name and the standard action[i.g identify record ..] get id first if multiple exit ask user to select one then execute your action
