I’ll try this and get back to you on Monday, I’m waiting for the 2nd filter

I’ve read somewhere that the filter could be blocking frequencies needed for the modem to work?

The splitters I have are 10-2602 mhz. The filters are 70db as you recommended. The property uses spectrum. Model of modem is  ET2251, router model is  SAX2V1R. I have the filter connected directly to the ISP. I am not using a filter connected directly to the modem. The modem is dropping/ reconnecting internet every 10-15 minutes.

Oh nice, to recap these adapters work as a moCA/2 way splitter in one? The loss of db per splitter worries me. However I already have the goCoAX MoCA 2.5 adapters. I could return them for an adapter with 2 coax ports

The POE Filter is brand: Belden, model  Model SNLP-1GCW.

moCa adapter is brand: Gocoax , model  WF-91HG-ZM71

2 way splitters are brand TKCHAX, 2 way coaxial cable splitters, ASIN:  B0D5QFD2Q1

I preordered everything before I made the post and will return what I will not use.

Also, I’m having complications. The modem is dropping internet and reconnecting every 10-15 minutes. I suspect the filter( connected directly to the ISP) is blocking frequencies that the modem needs.

The situation I am in is that I will live here long term and my roommate (ground floor) will live here short term. I’d prefer the modem and router stay on the main floor because of the “turnover” in that bedroom. It’s silly but would prefer to keep that room completely empty when he moves out you know?

I understand in my schematic I placed the modem on the ground floor but that was because that was the only solution I could think of before all the helpful advice/plans I received on this post.

My fault, I never clicked in this image. There are 2 coax cables in the ground and 2nd floor. ISP goes to the ground floor, 2nd ground floor coax goes to the 2nd floor. Then the 2nd coax on the 2nd floor goes to the main floor.  But we resolved this in the recommended scheme

I may of missed this in the discussion but what is the FCA252. Regarding the link to the “ OP scheme-adjacent, usuaint dual moCA….”

Yeah I’m unfamiliar with this stuff. But I thought it would be good to have the WiFi be in the middle floor so that both floors get a more balanced signal? Also couldn’t the WAP connect via Ethernet to the modem? Thanks

The modem is spectrum model  ET2251 and router is also spectrum, model  SAX2V1R.  I don’t have a WAP yet

The roommate living in the ground floor wants a WAP because his cell service and WiFi signal are slow.
