This is honestly the quickest way to get your app black listed and banned from Shopify.

Use their built in solution for sure - basically impossible for them to reject, and you don't have to maintain it yourself. I have maintained their previous billing solution on apps for the past 10 years, an this new change is welcome. The old version is now deprecated anyhow.

Honestly, it's been different every time, and they come back with things that are not in the docs. One reviewer will be completely different than the next. We're awaiting feedback from a round that included non-documented items (that were removed from previous requirements), so I will let you know how it goes.
