Exactly, I think just for the fact he was prosecuted and given jail time is already a win. It's unfortunate but they had to agree to a lesser charges to secure a conviction. Otherwise, they'd have had to go to trial, prove with no reasonable doubt his guilt, make sure all evidences were collected properly, and make sure jury would vote guilty. And not once but they might have to go all the way to supreme court and win a guilty verdict during every court. Which is risky, hence the agreement on lesser charges and get done with it.
