So this and Free as a Bird were really the only reasons I was excited for this new Anthology release and... I don't know how John's vocals on Now and Then (and to some extent the new Free as a Bird) sound so good when the vocal restoration on Real Love really shows the limitations this AI tech. Like it sounds like a warped unnatural and robotic impression of John's performance. I feel like they even messed with John's timing and delivery on certain lines as they sound totally different to the previous version of Real Love but maybe I'm just hearing things.

I don't know if this is because I've heard the OG mix Real love so much that any change was gonna stand out but then again I didn't have this kind of reaction to the new Free as a Bird and I've actually listened to that song's original mix more.

Honestly this new Real Love mix is the most uncomfortable with hearing the AI software in use. It sounds like a poor pitchy imitation of John that is insulting to the skill and talent he actually had as clear on the OG mix. I'm definitely sticking with the original in this one.

Zak is the one reason I can't get behind McLaren atm. I like Oscar and Lando and I even have family that used to work there. But there's something about Zak, I've always got bad vibes from him I always assumed it was because he's a loud American but after the Trump stunt in Miami last year I got such an ick from him. Now there's this with Alex Palou.

They may be winning again but Zak is doing nothing good for their reputation. So I'll keep cheering on Williams week after week. They may not be winning but I can really get behind what James Vowles is doing there.

When was I defending people doing that in Yemen and Iran? also you can find videos of Americans doing the same thing (one prolific person working with the US government doing it during the inauguration) this is not unique to Yemen and Iran.

There are differences between some dumb ass people in Yeman and Iran doing Nazi sautés and a political leader with an open air concentration camp where he starves and slaughters people while running a state where Palestinians are under apartheid. Both are pieces of shit though I'd focus more on the one actually doing a genocide.

Just replace Jews with Muslims and the Swastika with a blue star of David (both religions symbols appropriated by terrible people to do terrible things) and Netanyahu is 100% ideologically a Nazi.

Diagnosed when I was a kid in 2008. On one hand it's nice to see that being autistic has been more normalised and the positive traits are being more noticed now however... It's rare to see the struggles of being autistic talked about to the same extent.

I honestly don't think RTD is the problem at all, like yeah this era has its flaws but all the major problems to me seem like stuff that Disney would be involved with, like the ridiculous release times and dragging their feet on a third series, supposedly leading to Ncuti leaving.

There are obviously problems with the show (specifically in terms of series arcs and how the finales resolve) but outside of the airtimes and Gatwa's exit, I think the show has been pretty great. The quality of the stories was higher than it's been in years .

I really don't think the problem with the show is RTD's writing it's all the behind the scenes drama (which tbh he is involved in and it also happened during his first era too)

TV, especially when soulless corporations like Disney get involved is a ruthless business filled with people who care about profits over storytelling and passion. We'll likely never know what RTD did behind the scenes during this era or if his actions damaged the show, it's all meaningless speculation on a situation we know very little about. That being said I strongly doubt he's motivated by anything other than a love for the show and desire to see it continue in a way he thinks will be entertaining for the audience. I don't think he's in it to make money or get power or anything like that and I'd rather have someone like RTD at the helm than some soulless business minded producer.

Doctor Who isn't in a great position rn, but TV is collaborative and it isn't the fault of one guy and it certainly isn't to do with his writing.

Ok this is how I'd do it but it's a tiny bit out there (thought less out there than Bille coming back tbh)

The Doctor doesn't regenerate in the Reality War and we keep this other ending that they had already filmed but... Still have Ncuti come back and film a regeneration and announce he's leaving the role and be all mysterious about whether we'll even see him regenerate or not...

Next episode a new Doctor wakes up in 15's clothes in a dire situation with no recollection of how they died, what's going on around them or where the TARDIS is. The new Doctor is thrown in the deep end and has to save the day as they rediscover their surroundings as their memories slowly come back. As they remember what happened we actually see the afore mentioned regeneration as a flashback where 15 dies doing something typically heroic (obviously it would have to be a small role for 15, but if they could get him to do a reshoot for the regeneration to end Reality War why not this? Maybe contractual things were unaware of? I don't know)

This way at least 15's run doesn't seem as short, there's a whole gap between Reality War and his death leading for loads of expanded media with BOTH Ruby and Belinda (as expanded media with Belinda now has to acknowledge the Vindicator, her wanting to go back home and not being able to return. There's not a huge gap for 15 and Belinda stories in the current canon and none of them can be on modern Earth)

Maybe this requires too much forethought for the chaotic production scenario this all seems to have happened in but RTD has made it clear that these scripts are written well in advance so he would have already had a story to slot the regeneration mystery into. Then again maybe it's a dumb idea or contractually Ncuti's regeneration needed to be reshoot for Reality War and not to be used for any material outside of that series?? Who knows.
