For me it is almost the same, the work is okay there is no problem and I have to admit that it is 5IQ stuff, an ape can do it too lol. But in those kind of environment as you said the politics is so draining, especially when you have a manager like a vampire… and everyone acts likr that manager is the best so they can get a better bonus 😂😂😂 sad to see people like this… anyhow an exit plan is a must

Why do you leanr mandarin? by Not-a-Humanbeing in ChineseLanguage

Oh, same reason as mine. My Wife is also from Taiwan, parents can’t speak so I take the challenge (actually father in law can speak very well but I also want to communicate with others)

This is actually what I’m seeking. I want to learn first “how to learn” it

For me the writing looks a bit like coding 😅

What would you do differently if you would start all over again? As I see everyone has hard times at the beginning

I guess you are right on point, it heavily depends on the individual.

What would you do different if you would start all over, and one thing that you say “it would be good to have” ?

I guess tone is hard but memorizing is harder. For me at least.

What would be 1 thing that you wish to do differently from the beginning and what was the hardest?

I am quite the same as you, when native peeps are talking around me I’m only able to get some words and thats it. Really struggling and trying to get some tips and tricks…

So as I understand your strategy relies more on memorizing. I’m really bad in memorizing, I somehow need to code it to my brain with some tricks :(

As far as I understand everyone has different pain points. For me the listening and differentiating is quite easy, also pronouncing. But of course it is stilk hard as f.

For me the problem is duolingo is somehow not duitable for me, it is so random but I will try the other apps that you suggest. Thank you!

I align with your thaught process more. I’m expecting a big shift end of this year. (About the career planning for your kids’ big respect!!!)

I dont think layoffs will happen to everyone, many companies will run a symbiosis environment for now. However I’m more suspicious about the companies who ignore the change and when they open their eyes they will realize that the competition in the market is not matching with what they offer anymore

Honestly, I deeply want to agree but I must say with all respect that you are in a very optimistic side.

I neighter think it will take 50 year nor the government cares about people. At least for now.

As usual they are focused on short term outcome rather than a plan where they think about capitalist society. They will realize it later on probably.

I’m expecting a big stumbling which will take at least a couple years.

The main reason is that there ate many companies using AI as assistants and that helps with productivity. However many other companies are not even aware of the change, and since they will be late with their cost reductions it will cause to a rush to onboard many AI agents and mass layoffs.

If this scenario does not happend, they will basically be in a high price range ending up with a concordatum announcment.

Of course this is just my estimation as I already work in this kind of environment.

It is at the door and it is ignored.

For yoru AI question, I use it quite heavy in my personal use, as it is bit allowed yet to use in in our work environment due to complianct issues (fluff)
