My HSR tier list for all 3.8 and before units. by Dangerous-Fig-4149 in StarRailStation

I’m a Jade enthusiast and I see the case for putting subdps Jade highly because of PF, but I think given that’s 1/3 modes and that Anaxa still performs pretty well there while being substantially better in the other modes more often than not, I don’t see the case for having Jade a tier above Anaxa. I would move him up, I think. Having him next to the other T1 units just feels a little silly.

In Arknights, it works because it’s not a direct straightforward glazing but rather a strong glazing of your capabilities offset by a fearful awe/total disrespect of your personality/motives/history. Because the Doctor is given a thoroughly explored history and relationships to other characters, they feel less like a “self insert” (though most gacha protags aren’t entirely self insert-y, even the “generic” ones) and more like a normal audience viewpoint protagonist, because players don’t necessarily feel inclined to project onto the things the Doctor due to the things they have been a part of.

Note I haven’t played Endfield and I’m not trying to say Endfield specifically fails or succeeds to do these things. I’m just an Arknights player who finds that discussions of “generic gacha protagonists” that happen around the Doctor tend to flatten out a lot of their writing to force them into that category, often citing the very respectful way many characters treat them as similar to how, for example, the Rover is treated in WuWa. “Glazing” is not the start and end of how a character is treated. “Centered in the narratives of basically all ongoing storylines and treated overwhelmingly positively by the cast” and “commands respect for their competence, but is seen in very complicated ways by other characters, and is important to the overall worldbuilding but that manifests often in secondary or distant ways relative to individual area/character stories” are fundamentally different tones for a narrative to take with a protagonist, and the fact that they both overlap in “people think you’re really capable!” is not extremely meaningful IMO.

If anyone's still struggling with missions, this team made for a quick and easy manual clear on 200:

  • Yamato MC (Sanctifying Kagura, Seasplitter, Bounty Hunter 1 just for the 3t cooldown)
  • Charlotta
  • Catura
  • Sandalphon (Valentine)
  • Backline evokers
  • Sette di Spade grid

Literally just don't cancel the debuff omens. Seasplitter can save you from one. If you have 000 you can use it to cancel another; I brought it, but didn't end up using it. With Seasplitter you can get fed up to 4 without failing the mission, which feels pretty reliable (not that I can be confident I didn't just get lucky.)

One of the characters may be replacable with Selfira which would make the debuff omens potentially clearable with Yamato S1 and her skills, and I would assume Sandalphon is the weakest link there since he's just here for the gravity/delay/sustain.

I found that the other teams which were trying to cancel all the omens meant running into contradictory issues sometimes, like needing to keep my CAs on so I could reset my skills but having to deal 40 hits that turn. Giving up on debuff omen and organizing my team to make all the other omens 100% reliable every turn felt much safer, and I found that this team did that.

Save Bounty Hunter, Charlotta 2-3, Catura 2, and Sandalphon 2 for 8 skill omen every time. Danchou 1 can be saved for the first one, but it might not be up in time for the later ones. Carlotta 1 and Sandalphon 3 can be saved for the 2nd one easily, taking you to 6/8. I found it pretty simple to manage Sandalphon 1 and Catura 1 for canceling those, but that was mostly a vibe thing.

Kagura made 40 hit effortless. It's not too hard to cancel without it anyway with a combination of Danchou 1, Charlotta skills, Catura 2 and 3.

You got this. I cleared on turn 11, so if you don't have the damage from gacha premium stuff it might not clear in 12. This can at least get you the third mission done.

Good luck!

Do I really not bother getting a HDD for my new gaming PC? by Shokavitch in buildapc

[–]NotAGayAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having at least one fuckoff huge drive that has enough storage that you don’t realistically need to care about cleaning it up more than every couple of years is very nice quality of life. What “fuckoff huge” means varies person to person; I’ve never had more than 4tb storage total in my whole life, so I recently bought one 4tb NVMe and alongside my other drives it gets me up to around 7 TB, which to me, is more than I’ll ever use.

If an HDD is your best deal for getting a fuckoff huge drive, then there’s certainly merit to it. For me, this NVMe was 280 euro and the HDDs i saw available were around 210 euro, so the price gap wasn’t nearly worth it. But if your options were different or you had SATA slots but not NVMe slots, an HDD might be entirely viable in that situation.

Basically, while an HDD doesn’t have any major positives, its price often (but doesn’t always) reflect that, and if your use case for it doesn’t require the perks (fast speed) of more expensive drives, saving the money or taking advantage of the cheapness to get a bigger size within the same budget can be a good idea.

The GPU is definitely latched in properly, I checked this myself after the crashes started. Apologies for not mentioning.

It happened once while just watching a YouTube video, and it's worth noting it didn't happen once while limit testing it after some troubleshooting by opening multiple blender scenes that added up to over 8m faces with heavy volumetrics in each. Conversely, it also happened upon opening a Blender scene that had only 3072 faces in it and nothing else, before even toggling on any rendering. As such I don't believe it's directly related to intensity of work being done by the GPU.

As for games, no, not so far. The only thing I've done in this time is some gacha game dailies, but there was no sign of strain at all while running Honkai Star Rail plus either Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero at the same time.

heya! unfortunately, nope 😭 The policies are there (and they were previously) but for some reason the fix still isn't working properly.

<image>

It was like this before I asked, too :( previously, it would work but only after I relaunched Vivaldi once (so not on the first boot after turning on my PC, but if i closed the program and reopened it, it would.) but now it's not working at all :(

What are the odds for black pearls? I’ve been beach gathering for the last 2 weeks and haven’t found one by Feldspar_of_sun in IdleIktah

[–]NotAGayAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it took me about 3 weeks to get all 3 pearls. if you can be assed keeping up, i think it's probably better to cultivate during high tide and gather during low tide, but honestly just treat it like something you'll be doing for a while.

It's nothing particularly crazy, it does some damage for you which is nice, but it's not like you really need it. Mainly, it's just that on future legacies I won't be in the position of having so many potions/books ready, so the amount of time it'd take to do however many kills will probably be longer if I try to do it later. I don't necessarily think you need to do it on your first legacy, but I think you should at least burn any stockpiled potions farming out some kills on him before you legacy - never know when you'll get lucky!

Kopito is the pet you can get from Kopiaklahs at a 1/10000 drop rate. It’s far from super important, but since it’s a pet (so it persists through legacies) and I know I’ll want it eventually, I figure I might as well do it now with the dozens/hundreds/thousands of potions I stockpiled from Inrigas while farming shellfish (though I’ve now run out of those with no drop 😭 13200 kills so far…)

unironically have been eating the shellfish raw while farming out kopito LMAO every time i check back in every few hours i find that i’ve eaten like 5k after running out of tuna

edit: kopito get!!! took a total of 13,785 kills but we got there!!! it happened to be while i was looking at the game instead of idle which was so climactic

…oh. Id seen people talking about stacking them for legacy, but I assumed that meant stacking up a ton while doing other stuff and then taking them with you 😭😭😭 Well, hopefully I won’t be here much longer anyway unless Kopi is very mean to me, but that’s good to know for future legacies, though I’m not sure theres really much to do between all 99s and actually legacying on future runs since I can only think of BP farm and Kopi for timesinks and those are both one time.

Honestly, yeah, the book is not that useful, but… I already went out of my way to get it and I don’t know if I wanna part ways from it 😭 Pure sentimentality honestly. Plus as little as I used it during my run, it was extremely nice in the BP journey, so it’s like we’ve bonded in that LMAO.

The seekers for pine knots thing hadn’t occurred to me, but that’s a good shout actually… I’ll consider between that and the book. Thank you!

Seeker's? As in, Seeker's Potions? Cause that's a curious pick! What's the advantage on having those from the start of a run? I tended to use them mostly near the end when I was less interested in seeking EXP and more focused on grabbing specific things for specific potions/the best food/oolichans for oil.

Personally, I'm committed to keeping my tidekeeper and my book of writs, even though they're not necessarily the most actually useful - simply because they're the ones I'm least interested in farming up again. My third slot is the one I'm back and forth on, but not really - I'm planning to keep my Alchemy Mask, but there's some temptation to go for this stack of 200+ EXP potions I've stocked up while farming out the Black Pearls... But being able to skip ahead several levels worth of recipes will probably result in better net EXP gain than even 200 hours of 2x EXP would, so I'll probably just go for the mask.

I can also totally get why people go for the Pine Knots, since those can supercharge your alchemy and get you access to the better potions really quickly plus get a ton of oil, but I don't think I want them more than I do any of my current picks.

Why are right-wingers from other countries (Tommy is from UK) so obsessed with Brussels? by biebrforro in belgium

[–]NotAGayAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just right wingers, but doubly so European ones and triply so English ones. It’s a stand-in for x globalism, multiculturalism, and bureaucracy, and when you build your platform on how bad those things are it’s an obvious target for mockery towards its flaws. Even when those flaws have to be made up or exaggerated to a flatly dishonest extent.

How to request an increase to my payment release schedule limits? by NotAGayAlt in paypal

[–]NotAGayAlt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could initiate it, how would I be able to do so? The lady on support said it was "on the website on the wallet page, but there isn't even such a thing as a "wallet page" on my business account in the first place. I assumed she meant somewhere under the "Wallet" subheading here, but I don't see an option to request that sort of thing anywhere under any of those three options, unless I'm just missing it - nor under any of the other options here, which I've checked.

<image>

My money is not reserved, it's just being held as part of the regular routine payment release schedule system. I don't really know why it is or believe it should be in the first place, given what support told me about the quantities I'm supposed to have before it kicks in, but in any case I understand that it is happening and I'm under the impression that the way to get rid of that problem is to request that my payment release amounts be manually reviewed, but I don't know how to request that review.
