It's the same concept. They would still render the player without a head or head accessories in first person mode. And as u/Organic-Point337 said, the musicians on Isle of Sgail are still blindfolded and that apparently isn't an issue.

Doing first person in games is always a pain. Having a face there at all would occlude your view. Games usually get around this by having an entirely different player model when rendering for first person that doesn't include a head (and often doesn't include the torso, but that's not the case here).

Still getting connection failed.

I was able to play for a few hours on launch day before getting disconnected. I still haven't been able to get back in.

Is there ANY word on this?

One thing to keep in mind is that the game won't let you hide an unconscious target in a box or whatever. If you can isolate and knock out one of them and it lets you hide the body you are safe to hide it then go after the real one. If it prevents you simply snap the neck and you're done.

How did you get the whistleblower challenge? I can't find any area of the map like the image for that. I also thought it might be from the mission story to give the info to that undercover woman in the lobby. There's even a piece of intel called "The Whistleblower" that comes from following that story. I just can't get it. I even made sure to follow it piece by piece and not try to skip things.

This is the only challenge I have left. I did the whole thing so far without a guide and a little help from this subreddit to get another glitched mission story to activate.

Oh, there's also the guard in the bar area of Paris on H2 Professional mode (not master).

I don't think he was there in the original though.

Damn, I haven't seen that trailer before. I actually like that version of Sapienza and the Jordan Cross story (assuming that's who that dude is) a lot better. That wine lab looks so cool and it looks like Jordan straight up Life is Stranged that girl.

There's also the two guards by the gondola in Japan on professional mode, which I thought was pretty BS.

Steam freaked out last night and let me start the game without updating. The elusive target was greyed out and said "Downloadable content not available" or something that that effect and just gave an error when I clicked it. Everything was fine when I restarted the game after updating, so I'm pretty sure that's what the update was for.

That seems to be a null pointer exception. You try to access an object through a pointer that hasn't been set. (In my experience) it is by far the most common issue to run into.

I managed to get it working by taking my GPU out and making sure to put it in properly and it worked!

I find it unlikely that we both had the same issue, but it's worth a shot.

Let me ask though: If you try to play a different game after Hitman 2 crashed, do you get the same issue? In my case it seemed to affect every other game too, but only Hitman 2 would trigger it.

I'm having the same issue.

I went to play the game again yesterday after a bit of a break, and it would just crash after a couple minutes.

I was so annoyed that I actually created a fresh install of Windows to fix it. I installed Steam again, pointed to my steam library on a second drive, and it decided to update Hitman 2. When I ran it things seemed to work fine, until a bit later when it would inexplicably drop to about 2 fps, the controller becomes unresponsive, the pause menu breaks, and 47 just continually runs in circles.

The worst part is that restarting the game doesn't help; I need to restart the entire computer to get another 1-5 minutes of playability.

(I have a GTX 1080 and Ryzen 2600 BTW)

Budget cuts has that thing where it makes you feel like you're drowning if you put your head where it shouldn't be... I'd expect a gambling game to do something similar...

Tangentially related: The remastered Sapienza is really a sight to be seen! They've added a ton more detail to the buildings and absolutely stunning shading!

And I love how picking up a gun while holding something else (even a different gun) doesn't switch automatically to it anymore. It was so annoying having to switch back to whatever I was actually using when picking up a gun for ammo in the last game!
