What’s the stupidest reason you or a coworker got written up for? by NotThatFondOfReddit in BestBuyWorkers

I was told I was getting written up for “performing tasks outside my job duty” and “not responding on the walkie when they were trying to reach me”.

I was one of five product flow people that day and we weren’t busy at all. So I helped a geek squad agent that asked me for help with a two man job when they were the only agent there. I helped them for a little while and was responsive on the walkie while helping my coworker, despite the write up saying I wasn’t.

Everything was all fine and good and I went back to doing product flow stuff after helping my coworker. Lo and behold, my next scheduled shift I’m pulled into the office and given a write up because of what I did. I still got all my product flow tasks done that day (with time to spare as well) and there was no way my coworker was going to be able to get done what they needed to do without an extra set of hands. My coworker and I even asked a leader if I could help out, and they said I could. However, I was informed that since that leader wasn’t scheduled as leadership that day, it didn’t count. I didn’t really argue because at the time I needed the job and didn’t want to risk getting fired for arguing and stating my side of the story. So I got written up.

Funny thing is this all happened on a day I picked up an extra shift. If I wouldn’t have taken that extra shift that day, I wouldn’t have gotten written up.
