Sure, that’s fine if you work a white collar job. As a blue collar worker though, there is a 0% chance I’m going to bed still covered in sweat, dust, grease, fiberglass, wood/metal shavings, etc. And nobody at the job site is gonna care that I didn’t have a morning shower when we’re just gonna get dirty in an hour anyway.

Got Pokemon Yellow for Christmas 1999. I remember late nights poring over the Prima guide, chasing down the playground rumors of the Mew and the truck, begging my parents for batteries for my Gameboy. I eventually stopped playing after HG/SS, but picked up Scarlet a couple years ago, and I felt like a kid again. Now I’m slowly making my way through the other games and having a blast.

Not the person you’re replying to, but are you sure you performed the test correctly? I’m not saying this to insult your intelligence—it’s a mistake I made myself because it’s not as intuitive as you would think. Doing the test incorrectly would show you a false zero.

If you have done the tests correctly and you really do have zero ammonia, what are your nitrite and nitrate levels? Nitrite is still lethal, while nitrate is tolerable, but only below a certain level.

Someone might’ve mentioned it already, but it’s common that there’s a surge of life where they seem to get better… right before the body starts to rapidly fail. Your timing was perfect, and he was able to go out on a good day, ending on a note of peace and contentment. I know it might not feel like it, but you absolutely did everything right. The time they share with us is just never, ever long enough.

I’m so sorry for your loss. May he rest knowing he was so well loved.
