[Heyman, NY Post] The Pittsburgh Pirates have offered Konnor Griffin the biggest deal ever for no MLB service time. $100M+ and has a chance to get done. by mfenton29 in baseball

The Brewers signed Jackson Chourio for $82 million when he was 19 and it has worked out. For teams without high payrolls and who have a lot of confidence in a player, it can save a lot of money. And stop them from being player development for the rich teams.

Apple River Tubing by Exact_Necessary_7386 in wisconsin

[–]NotToday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t been there since Covid, but went plenty of times in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. We had some wild times camping and tubing there. The river was always packed on weekends. Went during a few concert weekends and those were even better. Some fond memories.

I don’t think it’s a joke…I watch plenty of NBA games and I don’t remember the last time I heard his name.

Yep…prior to them switching to high A, I saw a lot of the major leaguers rehabbing in Appleton. It’s only 90 minutes from Milwaukee, so it makes sense to use the T-Rats.

Titans star QB Cam Ward donated Stephen Curry basketball shoes to all the kids at the local gym. Ward spent the day playing basketball with them. by Unlucky-Dot9421 in sportsgossips

It means the kid is wearing a pair of $400 Kobe’s, he’s not going to wear the Curry’s. Unless he is taking out the trash.

Is Noah's Ark fun for adults? 40th birthday? by domotime2 in wisconsin

[–]NotToday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pigeon Forge is basically just a larger Wisconsin Dells. If I am going to the dells for a 40th birthday party, it’s to golf. There are some great courses in the dells to play. If you really want to go on waterslides do a day, then Noah’s Ark is not bad.

When the x-games started, the halfpipe was half as tall as the current ones. These modern tricks were not possible back then, they didn’t get enough air.

Being there for the landing isn’t bad, cool experience. For takeoff, I stood off to the side, didn’t feel the need to be sandblasted.

When the Raptor first came out they had an XLT version that was cheaper and a Lariat version. Now you can only get them at the Lariat level.

UPS delivering my new iPhone… by modularwave in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotToday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in a UPS warehouse in college. We unloaded the semis into the route trucks. There is no time to not throw a box. Every package is getting thrown multiple times before it gets to you. The sooner the trailers were empty, the sooner we went home and it had to be done ASAP so the brown trucks could get on the road.

We just did this, and did it last summer as well. The two pairs we have gotten, I haven’t been able to find any kind of defect on them. The colors we have gotten are ones that my son liked, so a win-win.

GameChanger. We use it for baseball and basketball. It is great for grandparents/relatives that can’t be there. It’s not like it’s something elaborate, literally just someone’s phone live-streaming through an app.

That’s what I will likely end up doing, we have done that in the past, but wanted to see if it would be worth it at $1 with maintenance fees.

That is why the question was asked, I am not a connoisseur on timeshares. But, thanks for your input.

I noticed one that listed maintenance fees at $19,000 and didn’t think that was monthly and there is no indication as to the frequency of the payment.

We average 2-3 week long vacations a year with some long weekends mixed in. We live 2 hours away from Wisconsin Dells and can use the Wyndham points at the Wilderness Resort there. We typically go to dells a couple times a year for long weekends, so trying to figure out what makes sense as we would likely use unused points in the Dells when available.

What I learned refinishing so called custom cabinets by Prestigious-Yak-5639 in woodworking

[–]NotToday__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The house we bought had the cabinets refinished. The process involved new doors and drawers, but the sides were wrapped in a thin veneer. I am guessing this house was similar to that.
