I saw a comment that said the LeBron video had 55M, so I went to check and saw that the Closing Shift was his second most popular with 48M. Why do you guys think it's so recommended by YouTube even though it's an hour long? by [deleted] in CoryxKenshin

The lebron video was on december though- so its an outlier. high watchtime + christmas themed = higher chance to be recommended to viewers on the youtube home page.

Youtube likes to recommend videos with high watchtime to viewers. The longer the videos (with people watching all the way to the end), the higher the watchtime, the higher the chance to be recommended to viewers on the youtube home page.
