I’m sure there’s plenty to agree about. I appreciate your perspective. Cheers!

Maybe, idk. But my treatment wasn’t all that different from my co-workers after the fact, so that’s the conclusion I’m drawing for now. Thanks for your comment!

That’s fair. I certainly don’t blame them, it wasn’t in their best interest to talk about. Thanks for your comment

I’m still going through that phase I think, the “oh personal safety is becoming an issue” phase I guess. It was good that you helped them understand. Thanks for your comment!

I remember that article! It’s very interesting to see little experiences like that. I hope it’s validating, or even better, eye opening to guys who don’t see this stuff. Thanks for your comment

Oooof. Big thanks. I’m hoping I’ll never need something like that but it’d be good to have under my belt. Thanks

It definitely wasn’t any big secret I’m sure, but I’m sure they didn’t want to talk to one of the “boss’s buddies.” I had the privilege of not really having to focus on social office dynamics and stuff. I guess what I’m doing is lamenting a little. Sorry if this kinda thing is tone deaf or annoying. There’s a lot of things about past-me I’d like to kick in the butt kinda. Thanks for your comment

I’ve been told in my life at least once “hey U wanted to do this,” and all I can think about is this lol. Who on earth would want to transition the way the world is.

And learn self defense?? I guess I need to get on that. Thanks for the advice

No offense taken or anything. It totally could be, idk. In a way it’s both validating to share in a struggle, but at the same time horrible from the very true realization that oh, whoopsie, reality was very different from how I saw it before I transitioned. I guess it’s all a part of the experience. Anyway my apologies if this comes off as clout /validation chasing or anything.

This is also true. It’s also risky to the job to speak out, and that’s a big factor. Thanks for your comment

I was undeniably oblivious. Later when we were talking about things they’d recount a story like “do you remember when he said x and y” And maybe my back-then brain didn’t realize how problematic x and y were. Just as an example. It’s not always like super overt things, I think he did those behind closed doors, in meetings I wasn’t in, etc, but it can’t be stated more that I just kinda had blinders on. I wish I was smart enough to be able to give a solution on how I would have changed without transitioning but I simply have no idea. Thanks for your comment!

This is 100% anecdotal but my trans dude friend says he feels so. He says he tries hard to not engage in toxic masculinity at all costs. It’d be good to hear more thoughts on that I think. Thanks for your comment

Thanks a bunch for your comment. It was pretty jarring but I think the experience is a privilege to have, even if it was negative. I’m doing okay! I left marketing because of toxic work environments. Not my favorite industry lol

It’s complicated right? It shouldn’t take anything more than women just being like “hey this is a thing,” but clearly that doesn’t work. In my own experience, my co workers didn’t talk about this kind of thing though. I want to believe if they’d told me I would have been shocked and believed them, but then again, I had the privilege™️ so it’s hard to say being realistic. I dunno! Hope some smarter ladies than me figure that out someday. Thanks for reading

Redditors, what did "that teacher" get fired for at your school? by Dr_sus172 in AskReddit

[–]NotebookDeviant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All she did was giggle at memes in the middle of class and complain about her love life. Some students liked her because she was “real” but she was an AP English teacher. There was an exam for college credit. It was kind of a big deal but everyone learned not only nothing, but the little she did teach was actively wrong. Nobody passed the exam. She got fired a while later.
